    Default Family/Performance

Alright so I have been back and forth on 2 cars, LS1 4th gen camaro or a new 5th gen Camaro SS. But when it really comes down too it I need something I can put car seats in and be safe (seat not sideways due to buckets in the back). Here are 2 options I have come up with. Most likely will be getting either one of these used w/ remaining warranty, due to new car prices on them. The CTS-V wont be a '09 due to only having an auto in the '09.

CTS-V. I think we may be getting one rather than the Vette. Same engine. More luxury.

Yeah that's my point. The GXP I believe has the LS3 (new camaro SS) and the CTS-V has the LS6.

The irony is, Dan and I have been mulling over the CTS-V and the G8 We just sold my Subaru and we were going to get a Vette, but Dan is afraid they will loose too much value. People are still asking way too much for them. Our biggest problem with the Vette is that it is a 2 door. The CTS-V solves that. The only disadvantage, not a track/street care, per say.

This is a tough call IMO. I actually like the way the G8 looks better. I think the CTS-V looked better in previous years. But still...haha I don't know.

G8, often compared to the M5 BMW, it's also the only one of the two that I'd even consider, I don't like Caddys. Also, if you got a Holden or Vauxhall conversion, I'd be more excited to see that than a GT-R nowadays. Also, they hated the CTS-V on Top Gear, they loved the Vauxhall though, just saying.

CTS-V is one of the best cars out there period mixing luxury and performance. The price is low compared to competition but it is over 20 grand more than a G8 GXP.

I ALMOST bought a G8 GXP before I got my GS 450h in April. To make a long story short I could get a new G8 GXP for 37k out the damn door! The car IMO is sensational, I love how it looks, handles fine, nice Brembos and the interior is very well done though not luxurious. It was hard buying one though knowing Pontiac might not be around.

Well it isnt' around. Will it be a collector item? I don't know. I do know with what it offers for the price its really hard to beat.

Even the G8 GT with the 362hp V-8 is a great car. Mind you the Pontiac will be cheaper to modify and maintain.

    Good luck!

Well I heard something about the G8 might be thrown over to Buick and be the new Grand National if things were to pick up. For the smaller engine I'd rather just get a GTO.

If only it were in my universe of a price range. BTW I'm still hoping for the 5th Gen Z28

I really like the G8 and follow it well. A few bad things going for it.
    1. It hasn't made a profit for Holden, even as a Vauxhall and Pontiac.
    2. The Australian exchange rate is getting worse
    3. The GM CEO has said no to rebadges. Even Lutz had to recently eat his words that the G8 was coming as a Lumina/Impala

I don't understand GM. Its gotten rave reviews its selling well but they rather sell us a FWD Impala not keep the G8?

Here it is in the middle east

Bang for the sedan buck, you can't beat the G8. Bang for the superstar luxury buck, you can't beat a CTS-V.

I do like the coming CTS-V wagon too! A V version may come!

agreed 100%. I think the fact that you used a picture of the LS9 CTS-V but are contemplating buying the last generation, the poll is not going to be accurate.

You said that the 09 will only be an Auto. I thought you were wrong about that, but I tried to "build" one on their website and you are right. One thing I noticed though was that they say it has the Tremec TR-6060 manual in their description...

I personally like the G8. I went up the the dealership about 4 months to test drive one, and I was really impressed with power the car had. I also liked the interior, the seats were very comfortable, the dashboard and console were really nice considering its a Pontiac.
