    Default boosting gs-r

ok i have a gs-r which is mostly stock. awhile back i burnt a valve an while i had it down i put itr pistons in it which ups the compression to 11.5 if im thinking correctly. well with that high of compression it doesent sit well with boost. but i want to turbo my car. now in my opinion i can still do it but i dont think i can go over 5psi an have a good tune. now i would like to open the thread to the smart people that have helpful answers. thank you.

itr pistons are also known for weak ringlands; i wouldnt do it. and psi means nothing; btw.

Like Patrick said the ITR pistons (along with B16 pistons) are some of the weakest ones in honda motors. I have seen tons of cracked ringlands on these pistons. You could turbo it but it may or may not last long. I would put some GSR pistons back in it if you could.

so does this mean that its probably not a good idea to boost a stock b16?!

You can still boost a stock B16, you just have to be a little more careful and get a good tune. I was just saying that I have seen way more broke B16/B18c5 pistons then I have GSR.

stock b16 also has lower compression than a gsr motor with itr pistons. the gsr head will bump the compression up a little more. so with the weak ringlands, and higher compression ratio, i highly advice against it.
