I saw someone put gsr cams in a B16 and was wondering if this is a good idea? I have a NA B16 with some bolt ons and also have some GSR cams laying around...
discuss please

You MIGHT have to retune it and actually get the timing correctOriginally Posted by southside

It's a give and take. I don't remember actually which one but one cam (b16 or gsr) gives you slightly more top end (lik 1-3hp) and takes some power away from the bottom end.
its da gsr intake cam that gives a lil moreOriginally Posted by bigdare23
hmmm very weird.. is there any topics already made about this?
Not on here, but there's post about it on h-t.
i heard it was suppose too, where i saw it, gave a dyno sheet for proving. but from 1-3 horsepower is hard to tell if it is actually worth it. I've done it to my b16 i had, i was not satisfied at all. So I say, don't do it. I did mine, cause I had nothing to do that day and decided to burn time doing something.
Its my daily in the coupe I built just header/exhaust/intake/street tune (chipped)
Guess I should just try to sell the cams,, they came out of my hatch's engine build
not worth it...so i went with ctr cams
What do yall mean "not worth it"?
GSR cams are almost free, $60 maybe?
Anyway I swapped my JDM B16 cams out (in my B16 at that time) for some GSR cams and gained 3-4 WHP/WTQ. Now it has been awhile but I'm almost positive that there was nothing else different on the before & after dynos (both from Mainstream).
hes are free he has them just laying around
I'd do it ejone has them in his car and his will RUN!!! for a b16. No I'm for real, its quick.....

as stated above they are worth about 3-4 whp if thats worth your time man go for it.
if you have them then do it. if you are buying them...dont.
i really dont think like .2 more lift will need a re-tune... my buddy put gsr cams in his b16 and vtec hit harder & pulled a little harder
Exactly, don't think a tune is necessary.Originally Posted by SX-MAN
Sell them and get ITR cams.

If your looking for gains from a camshaft, go ahead and get something better, like 2001 itr cams/ctr cams. If you have the money, go with some pro 1's...
