Does a B16 gain HP from GSR cams?

I saw someone put gsr cams in a B16 and was wondering if this is a good idea? I have a NA B16 with some bolt ons and also have some GSR cams laying around...

No it doesnt my cousin had a b16 with some stuff done to it and he tried gsr cams it ran crappy.They say if your boosted it helps though but for all motor I dont think it will be a big difference

You MIGHT have to retune it and actually get the timing correct

Its not worth it.. keep the b16's

It's a give and take. I don't remember actually which one but one cam (b16 or gsr) gives you slightly more top end (lik 1-3hp) and takes some power away from the bottom end.

i heard it was suppose too, where i saw it, gave a dyno sheet for proving. but from 1-3 horsepower is hard to tell if it is actually worth it. I've done it to my b16 i had, i was not satisfied at all. So I say, don't do it. I did mine, cause I had nothing to do that day and decided to burn time doing something.

GSR cams are almost free, $60 maybe?

Anyway I swapped my JDM B16 cams out (in my B16 at that time) for some GSR cams and gained 3-4 WHP/WTQ. Now it has been awhile but I'm almost positive that there was nothing else different on the before & after dynos (both from Mainstream).

as stated above they are worth about 3-4 whp if thats worth your time man go for it.

If your looking for gains from a camshaft, go ahead and get something better, like 2001 itr cams/ctr cams. If you have the money, go with some pro 1's...
