Default Which japanese manufacturer do you like best?

    1) I don't know how to make a poll.

What I mean by this is which auto makers current lineup do you prefer. I'm just trying to gauge everyones opinions on which auto makes they like in todays time, and not being stuck 10-20 years ago..

Currently honda doesn't make s2000s, tegs, rsx's, nsx's anymore. They're fastest car is now a v6 accord. Or for acura the tl.

Maxda makes the rx-8 still, but no 7, although the mazdaspeed series are nice cars

Toyota has no supra nor mr2, well it does have the tc.....lol

Nissan has the 370z(ugly but a great car) and gtr

mitsubishi has the evo which is still a great car

subaru still has sti's which are good as well

Seems to me like nissan is the only japenese auto maker making sports cars now....and it seems to me like toyota and honda are both focusing more on economy cars that makes their bottom line look better than making cars that are affordable, nice, and fun to drive...tsk tsk tsk Sounds like a big fuck you to the tuner crowd if you ask me

anyways those are my thoughts on the matter.

So what separates a "great car" from a "sports car?" Apparently to an enlightened person like you, it is a Nissan badge.

    Idiot.

No one gives a shit about the tuner crowd. Modifying cars will be completely gone in 5 years.

The make does not determine whether a car is or is not a sports car. IMO a sports car has either a FR or RR layout, and is 2 doors. But a car can be a great car without being a sports car as well....

I was pointing out that nissan is the only japanese maker to currently still producing a true sports car...

    Idiot.

LOL at the convenient omission of AWD. A car does not have to be RWD to be a sports car.

Lol, you think a practice that has been going on since the early 1900s is going to dissolve in 5 years? The act of modifying cars isn't going anywhere until there's a new universal individually owned form of transportation to take it's place.

    Mazda is always my #1

thier styling is always right up my alley, and ofcourse the rotary engine. it seems like they kinda set thier own pace, and dont really follow awhole alot of the time.

    then 2nd id choose Toyota

great well made cars, little softer designs compared to mazda....but if i had to drive a FWD car the Celica would be top of the list, mine was a great little car.

I like subaru, because they are continuing those crazy awd non sports cars.... I also like the gtr, but the rest of nissan's lineup is ugly as fuck. I like honda's a lot, but I wouldn't buy any of their current offerings, other than an Accord V6 fully loaded, just because they're pretty quick, have ok styling, and are just all around nice.
    Who knows?

So you list a GTR that's AWD with more shit then any other "true sports car" (in your mind) but say awd isn't true. I don't know why you make threads.

I make threads why? Because so many ppl like yourself come in and bitch. I really get to you ppl and it's funny.

And if you haven't driven a gtr then you do not have a valid opinion on how fun of a car it is to drive...GTR PWNS ALL NUBCAKE

On a serious note, even porsche is lately adding electronic driving aids. (i.e. computerised traction-stability control)

I also like subaru, although I wish they would've kept the new sti's as sedans instead of hatchbacks...I think it looks good and unique, but I like the older models more.

I think most nissan/toyotas/hondas are ugly all together. New corollas/civics/sentras/camrys/accords/tl's/370z list goes on

I will agree that the z06 is overall a better car. But I would buy the gtr because it is more my type of car...the styling...the engine...the interior...come on you know vettes' interiors are garbage

That's not the point of this thread. I was making a statement. How are other AWD cars not "true sports cars" but the GTR is?

no it wont. people will always have the need to go fast on the streets and that alone will keep the craze going. it may not be as big. but it will never be gone.

edit: out of like 6 cars i've own, 2 of them were not a honda. my answer is pretty clear.

So you devised a way to make Nissan win this "Poll" by leaving out almost all Japanese cars by setting the requirement at FR and RR, that's retarded.
-I think that Subaru makes the best, most fun, and safest cars all around, cars that you can go camping in and goof off in in the snow/rain/off-road (slightly), the only issue is that you might pass as a lesbian while driving one.
-Honda is my second favorite, with the Fit, they have created another light/fun/convenient car all around, it's peppy and economical and I really want one about as much as a 2.5RS Impreza. Also, they make a great FWD that's reliable and will treat you well for a long ass time.
-Toyota is too damn boring, the Corolla looks nice and the Matrix (Corolla wagon) is very convenient and they are sporty enough for my needs, the only really exciting cars they make are the TC and IS available through other logos.
So I guess Nissan doesn't really make my list, the Sentra is meh even in SE-R trim, the only goods are a car I'll never afford and the 370Z (350Z included), which everyone knows is a douche-bag's car (look at Jon Gosselin as reference), I would love to have one for it's technical prowess, but I'd expect a little spittle in my coke every time I went to Wendy's.

I like Honda and Nissan as far as tuning goes (as u can see in avatar)
Toyota makes well rounded cars that seem to last and I love supra's but until they make rwd tc's available 2 me they're not one top of my list right now.
Mits and suby's are up top on my list not sure where but up top
    Not sure about vdubs yet?

This thread wasn't about nissan winning or losing...it is about how car companies are making few sports cars and are focusing on being purely economical...

Subaru's are fine cars but I do not go camping/golfing/hunting so they do not appeal to me. And they do not offer the best and most fun all around cars...that is not true at all, and I'm not 100% but I don't think they make any fwd cars....

The fit is a good car, but I am not an economical person so I could care less. I will never buy a 4 cylinder car, the minimum is 6...or in the case of a volvo s60r 5...and honda is just as boring as toyota, face it....

The 370 is ugly, but a great car...and I do not know who this jon gosselin person...so..... But just because one douchebag drives a certain car doesn't make all drivers of that car douchebags...

You obviously favor awd cars with your love of subaru..I prefer rwd

let me get this straight, my 4-cylinder AWD STi isn't a sports car to you?
You love RWD the best, but you bow down to the GT-R like it is the end all of cars...
    And YOUR car is FWD?

    1) No, I do not consider your nor anyone elses sti a sports car.

    2) I do like rwd the best. I do not bow down to the gtr, but it is one of the best cars you can buy for 80k

    3) My car is fwd...so? That's the reason why I don't mod my car for performance. Going fast in a fwd car is pointless. I bought my car to take me to school and back reliably. And my car hasn't broke down yet. So get off my back. I could care less about speed right now...There will be a time and a place for when I want to get a sports car...

You not considering the STi a sports car exemplifies how poor your automotive knowledge really is, period. You nullify your own opinion out of sheer ignorance. How is going fast in a FWD car pointless? Just because I get entertainment value out of the absurd answers you hopelessly fling about in an attempt to sound the slightest bit knowledgeable, because your opinions are obviously ill-informed and therefore worth less than nothing.

And my car hasn't broke down yet. So get off my back. I could care less about speed right now...There will be a time and a place for when I want to get a sports car...

Now get off my nuts douchebag.
I beg to differ. My Talon is FWD not AWD. You're precious GTR wouldn't stand a chance.

    Just sayin

I am right, you are wrong. Deal with it.

this thread is becoming Subie AWD vs Nissan RWD..
Back to topic, I will pick Mazda first among all the manufactures you mention above. They still keep the miata, the best bang for the buck fun car on the market, sill improving their rotary tech, the mazda3 is among the best compact car in the market and their new cars styling is not as ugly as the other car makers IMO.

Duh. Rallying isn't a well respected motorsport. It is only what Scandinavians do in their AWD grandma sedans when they wish they were drifting in the almighty FR and RR sports cars.
