Using honda parts.
Find out for sure and get back to me. Comp calulator says ls crank with gsr rods and pr3 pistons = 12:6:1. I don't like the gsr rods in a ls block thing tho.Originally Posted by slovic
I wanna build an ls with at least 12.0. 12:5 is max. Time to make the 4 door move out.Originally Posted by slovic
81.5mm ls with PR3's and a 1 layer headgasket will yield 12.04:1
11.7@116- All motor H2B Integra
if your going with stock bore get b16 pistons 1layer hg and mill the head .010 that will put you around 12.2:1
Soon!!
81.5 would be 0.20 overbore right?
^^yea
Soon!!
my fav. dsmer going behind my back i see. lol. i quess u are ready for some reliable power.
new project every week.
Whatever is slow will be reliable. This is why hondas never break down lol.Originally Posted by y-49

just get the jdm b16b pistons, PCT....they will give you a 13.1 compression with a 3 layer headgasket.......![]()
just wondering what is PCT???

I've been hearing those are not very good pistons to use. Something about being prone to detonation.Originally Posted by 99jdmLs

there were some .25 over pct pistons being sold in the for sale thread few days ago, came with OEM rings to. 175 bucks.... BNIB (a deal)
you can buy them for 169 shipped off some sites and oem rings are around 120...

this is the calculator that i used, change it between p30 and the pct pistons. it goes from 11.6 to 13.1 perdy nasty!
3 different types of b16 pistons:
(all calculations are b18/b20 with a oem 3 layer head gasket)
p3-usdm b16 11.39:1 comp
p30-jdm b16a 11.61:1 comp
pct-jdm b16b 13.14:1 comp
if you want to go ls/vtec with a gsr head kiss pump gas goodbye- 14.31:1![]()
13.1 sounds about right. The goal is to beat lsv's. Ill update the thread when I get off my ass and do something.
B Series Compression Ratio's for different setups
that should answer all your questions

Thats all with a vtec head.
I don't know where you are getting those numbers. By my calculations, using PCT pistons in an otherwise stock B18A/B will net you around 11.55:1.Originally Posted by 99jdmLs
PR3- 10.92:1
P30- 11.16:1
There's no way it's making 13:1 using a LS head. Those heads have larger combustion chambers than VTEC heads. Larger combustion chamber = lower compression ratio. Maybe you didn't use the correct piston to deck height.
Even with a B18C5 block/head and PCT pistons you are only right at 12.0:1 using a stock head gasket.
1badgvr4, are you going to be using stock sized or 0.25mm oversized pistons?
stock sized PCT pistons are good for 11.55:1.
0.25 over PCT pistons are good for 11.61:1.
The only way I know of to get 13.0:1 using stock honda parts is using a B18A/B block, GSR head, .25 over PCT pistons, and a single layer head gasket, which is good for around 13.1:1.
Most of those online calculators do not take into account the piston to deck height, and differences between head gasket types. Also, most give the wrong thickness for oem honda head gaskets.

all motor ls? theres a vid on youtube, and a thread on honda-tech

but why not just go LSV?
i love tha pct pistons!!!!!!!!
i've built 3 motors with them. 1 ls/vtec 1 b16 and 1 all ls and they run great!
tha b16 with ctr cams itr intake manni and itr tb went 8.50's in the 1/8th miles with a half ass street tune![]()
just be sure to upgrade ur rod bolts with arp bolts.
Brian Crower 403 Cam's, P30 (because they fit on the stock ls rods without any mods), LS ARP Rod Bolts (to rev higher than 7k RPM), Port and Polish the head, new Valvespring, Retainers, Valves, Intake Manifold, Short Ram or Cold Air Intake, and a good tune

PCT= b16b ctr pistons
/Oo ___A___ oO\|=_/_______\_=|
dean u need to check the pct height im sure that they will hit the ls head and im sure that the rods gotta be trimmed to fit the pct anyways so i say b16's in a ls shot peen the rods and be happy with the 11.... compression p30's are cheap anyways
