    just to let u know where i stand....
    i don't have the car just yet but will have it May 1.
    94 Civic EX (D16Z6) 215k+

    first thing..considering the miles that are on it...and from *everyone's* experience and expertise...wut would i have to do to get it at least ready to put that $3000 turbo kit on it? and are there shops in atl where i can show up with the car, kit, and labor $ and have it installed, tuned, and ready to be driven...all while keeping the a/c and power steering (considering it's ready for the turbo)

    all comments welcome (humor me if u must)

    mainstream will get you hooked up make sure your manifold will let you keep your ac?

    and you have either a chipped ecu already or hondata?

    about 500 for tuning will be your price and thats the best tune and bang for your buck you will find on chrome!!!

    i mean shit you could even pay me to put it on and then take the spring out of the wastegate and drive it to mainstream thats what most people do!!

    thx...really appreciating the help...more noob questions tho...if u came across a 94 civic coupe with 215k miles...(driven by a ricer of course)..wut kind of major mechanics would u think i should look at first...(only buy it cuz i'm getting for $1500 *if it is decent enough*)

    Check compression.
    Change all engine and trans oil and coolant.
    Do a tune up.
    Check brakes and replace if necessary.
    Change brake/clutch fluid.

    ^^^^^^^ that pretty much it

    compression being the most important thing for what you are wanting to do. Oh and dont buy a complete turbo kit piece it together and save yourself some money for a vitera rebuild when it blows up

    as far as not buying the entire turbo kit...would mainstream be able to help me with piecing together the "home made" turbo kit? (ya'll gotta love these noob questions...as u can tell i don't know as much as i'd like to know about cars)

    i'd like to do most of the work myself...or at least with the help of a friend...after getting the compression test and all that other stuff replaced...would u consider it to be some what of a simple task for 2 people with little car maintenance experience to put that turbo kit on...once we had everything we needed...or just take it to mainstream...

    i know it's a lot of questions

    i mean i can do simple changes like brakes, oil, radiator...almost changed timing belt on my old integra...just couldn't break the the pulley bolt to get to putting it on..so had to take it to a shop

    go sign up on Honda-Tech.com........go to the sponsors market place. They will have everything you need to piece togethor a nice affordable turbo kit

    mainstream had a deal, idk if they still do, but for a i think t3/t4 full kit,installation,and tune is like 2500 or somthing like that and for a gt25r is like 3500 not sure but when i went with a friend to dyno a car they told us about it..somthing jst to look into, oh yeah and while your at it, dont forget to change waterpump timing belt and rear main seal if they wernt changed in a while cause thats alot of miles..gl

    Front seal while doing the timing belt..

    You're gonna need a new clutch anyway if you're turboing so change the real seal while doing that.

    well i know it's going to be a while b4 i do the turbo part...just wanted to know what i should work on fixing first to get it ready.....

    don't wanna put a turbo on a car and have everything just go to shit in a week or so.

    remember to at least start out with an fmu.missing link map diffuser and a 255 liter per hour fuel pump till you get the kinks out then go chipped ecu and injectors with a full tune with some dyno time.youll be glad you did. the hardest thing is the oil drain in the highest point of your oil pan. be sure it goes between the oil pan bolt or youll end up not being able to install some oil pan bolts. good luck.

    ok...i said i didn't know that much about cars...
    don't know wut fmu is. i understand the fuel pump comment. i know wut ecu and injectors are as well as tuning and dyno..but as for fmu..i'm lost

    12:0:1 fuel managment unit. its a kind of boost dependant fuel pressure regulator that you tie in with you existing one. then your engine while ideling and driving normal will run off the stock regulator then in boost the fmu will run the engine in relation to boost the engine is getting. there o.k but running them for really long periods of time cam overwhelm the stock injectors and make them stick. hence after the kinks get worked out and your $$$s right you see scotty at main stream get ecu chipped,injectors and a tune to do away with the fmu and the missing link, wich is a spacer you get to confuse and cheat your map sensor into thinking its still in vacume when its seeing boost.

    are there any other write ups on EVERYTHING needed to be done b4 the turbo stage...i know i got some advice here..just trying to make like a checklist of step by step parts to buy and replace on my way to the turbo

    to make it sound simpler...just trying to figure out which one would be best to come first.. like...hardest to easiest to replace or which should be changed first b4 changing something else... don't want to change something..and then have to go back and take it out just to change something else..or put a part on just have to have it destroy or damage another part that could have been replaced first

    Fist do a compression test because if you find a really low cylinder, you will be rebuilding the motor or replacing it.

    If compression is good drain all the fluids and go ahead and change the timing belt. While you're doing that you might as well change the oil pan gasket because it is probably leaking. Since you will be taking off the valve cover to do the timing belt you can change the valvecover gasket and grommets. Also before you put the timing belt on change out the front crank seal.

    The waterpump is behind the timing belt so you will change that while the timing belt is out.. It's going to be a massive PITA to change the timing belt with the motor in the car...just a forewarning.

    Remove the radiator and back flush it, change water hoses if they need changing. Maybe change the thermostat while you're at it but only use a HONDA thermostat...Don't use a colder one or any from an autoparts store because it will fail.

    -Change distributor cap/rotor, plug wires with either OEM or NGK wires, and NGK copper plugs(ask which plugs at any autostore they should have the right ones)
    -Change fuel filter
    -Replace transmission oil.
    -Fill it all back up with new coolant/oil.

    Might be a good idea to change brake fluid.. Same for clutch.

    Drive it.

    When you get ready to turbo, ask more questions.
