Yeah but there extra weight kinda offsets it.

But yes, different springs and sway bars. Honestly, it doesnt matter because the Non-s is just as nimple.

I cant wait to install my H&R rear sway bar

All wheel steering will make a car feel strange through a corner. It will take away a lot of the driver's instincts.

    I say Mini.

    I say Mini.

The all wheel steering on those Preludes is fully mechanical though. The all wheel steering Prelude is the only production car that has ever used mechanical all wheel steering. Its hard to say. The Prelude is an inch wider than the Mini, and several inches shorter with most of the weight lower to the ground. I'd say that theoretically the Prelude should definitely handle better than the Mini, but if you are competing in some form it entirely depends on the driver.

im going to say the prelude cuz i have one myself with the all wheel steering. and im hitting turns faster than alot of my friends an it has the stock springs an all.. but it does get scary when your going like 110 and the rear wheel still turn unlike the newer cars the real wheels stop turning at 40 mph

no that was the 5th gen prelude in 1997

    also

"In 1987, Road & Track published a test summary that shows the 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si 4WS outperforming every car of that year on the Slalom, including all Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches. It went through the slalom at 65.5 mph (105.4 km/h), an amazing result for the time. For reference, the 1988 Corvette took the same course at 64.9 mph (104.4 km/h)."

and its pretty unfair to compare these cars anyways

Wasn't the second generation Prelude considered one of the best handling cars world-wide? I'm sure they only improved upon it on the third generation.

The Prelude was the first to have Honda's double wishbone suspension. The Prelude had a mechanical 4WS system that was unmatched. The Prelude was also the first to have a torque-vectoring system. Prelude wins in my book.

A reasonably setup car will always corner faster than a bike. As for the original post, the Mini will win hands down. As MatthewAPM said, numerous races/times have already proven this so there is no room for speculation.

i think alot of people that think the mini has better handling are forgetting that this isn't the 2.0si prelude this is the 2.0si aws.. an the all wheel steering makes a big difference cuz i have drivin both makes of the prelude an the aws has way better control

    the Mini

Edmunds tested the New Convertible Mini at 64mph in the slalom....that's significantly heavier than a base model non convertible and 67mph for the Cooper S convertible.

    Roadandtrack times
    700ft slalom speeds
    Cooper - 65.2mph
    Cooper Conv. - 64 mph
    Cooper S - 67.9
    Cooper S conv - 67.1
    Cooper Clubman S - 67.2
    Cooper S WORKS - ???

So the BONE stock BASE MODEL mini is right there with the TOP of the line Prelude. Though i dont see any 88 preludes winning national titles and world praise specifically for their extreme ability to carve up the pavement.

Mazda Protege MP3 ran the 700ft at 70.2 mph, only bested by the Lotus Elise (73mph) in 2002 and a 71.4mph in 2003 in the Mazdaspeed Protege....just saying

one of 3 production cars tested that year that broke 70mph speeds ( Porsche 911 turbo, Lotus Elise, Mazda MP3)
