    anything i can do to this motor to pull hp outta this thing? its in a 84 celica. or should i just do a swap and what kind?

    The 22RE can make pretty good power itself. There was also a 22RE-T used for a short time, mostly in trucks, that has potential as well. I say go with the DOA Master Kit, C270 cam and some porting and have a pretty neat build.

    just go with the cam and some head work? any ideas on who could do the head work?

    Its a good platform but its very money consuming. honestly it would be cheaper to swap engines.

    theres a 'frankenstein' for the 22r/22re motors that utilize teh 20r head w/ the 22r block. its like the ls/vtec using the b16 head because they said the 20r head flows better. i havent done that much research on whats needed to make that work as far as water pump, timing chain etc, but pple like that setup alot, esp from what i have heard about the toyota truck 4x4 world.

    personally in my truck i'm going to try to go for the 1jzgte swap when money is right

    i think on that swap you have to mill the head and do some other stuff as well. it seemed like a pain in to ass.

    yea i dont know all the full details, i would have to sign onto the 4x4 website and im not doing that.
