Stop doing things based on what other ppl think. If you want to turbo your car do it. Why would you do or not do something based on some random ppl's opinions on this website you've never met...

And honestly, If you don't even know how to lower your car you prob shouldn't be trying to tackle an obstacle like FI.

If you have to ask a question like that then you are not ready for forced induction. A lot of knowledge required or a big bank account.

Do some research and see if its for you. If you want to deal with feed pipes, downpipes, installing the kit, or piecing it together. Plus tuning then by all means.

For now I'd say get some bolt ons, lower the car and enjoy. I doubt you want to spend a lot of time in college working on your car (if the install was done properly)

To answer your question more directly. Anything you want to do to your car is not stupid. There are plenty of F/I Automatic Maximas, they are fast. Question is are you ready mentally, and financially to make such a move...

what are you lowering the car with? which struts/springs? or are you going coil overs.

If I were you. I wouldnt F/I the car. Unless you have a few grand to to do it, and money to buy a tranny at any time incase it goes out on you.

I'd just mod her for looks, add some bolt ons, and cruise her like that. I'm sure when you get out of college or a little before you graduate you'll want to upgrade. So if you'll only have a year or so with her, I wouldnt go thru all the trouble..

    but thats just me...

On the flip side you could be that guy at college with the Killer car... I've seen a few guys like that... they got a lot of attention... if you know what I mean.

if this is your ONLY mode of transportation and you do not have the funds for another car, you probably will not be able to afford another 3.0L + labor after you blow it the fuck up.

Leave your car alone. it's not a race car, dont make it out to be one. Save your money and invest in a nice car to play with.

    Exactly.

Also, if you want to "impress" people, lower it and get Nitrous w/ a purge. You dont even need to inject into the engine, just have the purge.

man, finish school first and by that time you will want another car. Had to be talked out of buying a car while I was in school...it hurts but I promise if you wait it will be worth it. As others have said like Deezy and Tuner, get bolt ons and lower that bish.

Turbo+autotragic= boom..... trust me, I know.

And if you have $3k+ to do a turbo, you have $700 to do a auto to manual conversion
