There is two versions of GM Synchromesh, you want the friction modified version with the part #12377916. If you don't use that one then you may not see any change in results from regular fluid. We used to use the other one (#12345349) in the race cars and in the last couple hours of a 13 hour endurance race we would develop a slight grind in 5th gear, the friction modified version prevented that from that point on.

Floridaboy, HatchHero, myself, and many others have all used the GM sycromesh friction modified in my B-series tranny,H-series and fixed a serious grind like literaly 4 of the gears were grinding and even the honda manual tranny fluid couldn't do shit....highly reccommended when its your last resort better gambling $20-25 for a fluid that may save you $500-600 to open up the tranny and start replacing shit, use it if it grinds, if your tranny does not grind just leave it alone IMO
Correction, convert to this fluid the first week you buy your car to PREVENT issues from occurring instead of using it to cover them up.Originally Posted by LongLiveH2b
