    Default s/c ls civic fuel problem

    ok this is for a friend of mine he has a 92 civic hatch with a 95 ls motor sporting a full jackson racing s/c setup. hes been having a problem with the car starting everyonce in a while and it dosent realy show a patern. when it happens it still fires just acts like it is getting no fuel. when it happend one time we put a test light on the fuel pump and its getting power soo were starting to think the fuel pump is going bad. recently the starting problem went away but now the car wants to lean out at higher rpm soo now hes wanting to put a fuel pressure guage on the car too see what kinda fpr hes getting at the fuel rail. now the big question hes got is what kind of pressure is he suposed to have at the rail considering he has the jackson racing fuel pressure regulator?

    hes running stock ecu i wana say that there are no piggy back or anything compleatly stock motor with a straight up JR s/c setup

    i had some problems like that when i was using the jr fpr, once i got it tuned it was all gravy baby. just go get it tuned

    Thats not smart, take it off, or don't drive it until you get Hondata inside it, b/c u have no idea wtf is going on...

    ok guys i know he should get it tuned and hes not arguing that however we need to know what fuel pressure he should have at the fuel rail and as far as stock ecu as long as you have everything that is suposed to be with the kit instaled corectly (and it is) you would be fine on stock ecu i think jackson racing did plenty of research in that area

    the motor is probably being starved of fuel at the higher rpms cause he's running stock motor with a stock ecu.
    so the fuel pump might be having problems keeping up along with the injectors. and i know he's running lean with a stock ecu.

    just get a tune, and upgrade parts to support the s/c(injectors, fuel pump, etc.)

    ok let me clear this up im not asking if he should get it tuned we all know he should im asking what the FUEL PRESSURE should be at the fuel rail with the JR s/c set up instaled. his motor has been running fine for the past 4 years on stock ecu with the jackson racing fuel controle and s/c instaled soo 4 years and its still not blow i think its set up ok we just dont know what the fpr should be and need too scotty or anyone of his level will know

    its been a while since i have fucked with f/i hondas but i think i set mine at 40-45psi at idle..it will increase with boost...for instance 12 psi will net 57 psi fuel pressure. set it at 45psi and see how it runs...if it busts up while under w.o.t. increse slightly untill it stops.....what do i know..im just a stupid mustang guy! when you coming back from that tdy?

    @ 3/4 throttle i was getting about 75 psi on a gsr with a jrsc. i had a similar problem as well... after i switched the fuel pump out for a walbro 225 it was smooth sailing.

    yea thats what hes gona do is change out the fuel pump but just wants to make sure he has the correct fuel pressure at the rail in the process

    the stock pressure should be around 45 +/- at atmospheric (vac line pulled). w/ the rising rate fpr the pressure will jack way up with every pound of boost. if he's still running the stock pump it's crapping out...it cannot stand up to the demands of the higher fuel pressures and flow.

    his best bet is to remove the jackson electronics, rising rate fpr, get larger inj, and chip/tune the ecu.
