    Default How about this?

You know what I've just kind of noticed/realized? Everyone that has a Civic (newer of course) always has them painted red, black, white or green. The majority, that is. Maybe about 85-90%. If it's not one of those, it's usually that cream color.

I've noticed that no one seems to paint it blue. I'm not talking about the sky blue from 2001. Nor am I talking about royal blue. I'm talking about a medium blue. Just your basic blue. Why is that? I think that would be a pretty nice, subtle color for a nicely set up Civic. That shade of blue was actually a mainstay for Honda throughout the 70s and 80s.

This makes me think. Someone should go out and do a (sort of) reverse resto-mod. Instead of taking an old school car and new schooling it, do the opposite. Take a mid 90s Civic and put 70s and 80s gear on it. Just a front air dam with no body kit, a Grant GT steering wheel, a WINK! mirror, lolol. Even go back in the day and grab a blue paint color from the 1982 Civic/Accord:

I actually think that might be pretty cool.

What are anyone else's thoughts on that? Or on the blue paint thought? Later, QD.

Oooooohhh I want to do this. I think the only problem, is justifying putting older gear on a newer car, because the newer car costs more. Like, when I get the Rx-8 I want, It'd be sooo cool to put first gen Rx-7 stuff on it.... but I think I'll leave the investment of an Rx-8 stock.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

I'm not much of a Honda guy but I love the retro colors on Porsche's. A lot of owners have been special ordering them for awhile. I would order a Mexico Blue one from the 70's if I was ordering a new one.

It'd be nice to see an early 90's civic hatch done up that way, pretty unique too.

Oh actually QD I have pics of a car for you that you might like.Only problem is they're on an external hard drive I have lost the cables to.

If anyone has pics of this car, post it up. It's this bizzare blue first gen miata with a front bumper to make it look like a 70s European roadster, it also has a completely 70s euro interior with wood grain and a dashboard mounted rear view mirror as well as the original 1960s Mazda badging. It is SOOOO cool. I put the pics in a video once, the car is at the beginning.

Hey, my color was only produced on 88-89 models! lol So it's pretty hard to find. But the color blue of the EF/EE/ED's looks just like that. That's the same color as my other wagon I need to get with your car one day.

I actually already have a Blink mirror on order and was planning on repainting my car Suzuka blue from S2000s, which may be a newer color but is very similar to the blue used on EF hatches and older model accords.

Wink mirrors are still used, airdams are popular, I have all that you mentioned. Hell my Civic race car was even that color

i don't see too many civic painted like that though, just the RSX. and even the rsx's around here are mostly black or silver.
i think i've seen maybe 1 blue one.

i'm kinda leaning to a lighter shade of the artic blue though. i was planning on tinting it to be darker.

I'm talking about on newer cars, using the older stylings. All out. Not just throwing a WINK! mirror in your car. Later, QD.
