What are the typical gains from your header on a H22?

no thats about right, most H22s around here are in the 155-165 range. He doesnt have PRO1s, only stage 2s.

I used to think the same thing, but the more an more h22 dynoes i see around here the more they all seem the same

Ehh, I'm just used to seeing higher hp than mine with more tq than more hp with less tq. Especially being that its a 2.3 liter, and mines an old jdm h22a that is half worn out. but on an H's torque doesn't really differ all that much from what I've seen in my research.

I've ran it in my 92 hatch I've only been to the track twice, and ran it 4 times, first 2 were finding out how much traction I didn't have, and then getting into it a little more the next 2. I put down 215 wheel, and 160 whtq, 1/4 hasn't had enough seat time yet, but I've ran 13.3 @107. I beat modded 2002 SS camaro's and other stuff, just need some radials and more time and I have the mph for a mid-high 12 second pass.

it originally was only making 185 because the ignition kept busting up...msd ftl!

just for reference for the poster saying it seemed low i just tuned a bone stock h22 last night and it made 181whp and 145wtq. 44whp/12wtq gain is faily substantial. a cheaper header might have gained more tq, but sacrifice hp or a more aggressive cam might have done more, but this is still an impressive setup none-the-less.

Scotty tunes pretty much all the Hondas around here, so im sure he will agree.

in this thread there is a H23VTEC that Mainstream recently did, and an old customer of their and my roomates H22. ALl motors had pretty much the same intake, pistons, very similar cams (Stage 2s or Pro1s). So they are all very identical.

    h23 vtec...not quite finished

They all make about the same whp, this h23 has the lowest TQ for sure but not by much. all within 5-8TQ of each other

I read the whole thread, wasn't disagreeing with anyone, I had quoted another members post, not answering to the post above me. I don't go to mainstream, I live in Alabama and I get everything tuned by Jim Helbing of Motorvations. Birmingham is closer to me than Atlanta.

I have a skunk two intake not a euro r and i forgot to fix my exaust before i went which has a two inch flex pipe in it thats all they had when i went to get my exaust done. Im getting new exaust this week and i also still have my balance shafts which most h22s i have seen make this power had them removed so im happy for now just something to play with. I realy think the exaust is the reason for lower tourqe numbers but we will see.

so what would you guys recommend for building a H22?

Skunk2 Pro 2-3's w/ springs and retainers of course

or Brian Crower Stage 2's w/ springs and retainers

with the rest of your standard mods I/H/E and hondata

I hope im not posting this in the wrong forum or something, but since we are on the tuning h22 topic

I put it on a 98 aluminum oil pan and my dads f20b oil pan and a stock oil pan i was unaware of a oil pan it would not fit. There is a few mods to do but yes it is in my 95 accord and running so it will fit.

I made a bracket to bolt to the block and to the header the pushes it down maybe a inch that makes everything clear and helps support the header its easy to make took about twenty minutes.
