As the engine died, we pulled onto an exit ramp and the car completely died and would not turn over. Once we had it towed back home, the engine finally started but could hear a rod knocking. We had the engine replaced, and it worked fine.....for about two weeks. The engine had similar problems on the way home from work one day and kept stalling at lights. When it got back home, it was making a valve tapping noise. I was wondering if anyone thinks there might be another issue with the car or if it could be on the mechanic? We sent the car back to the mechanic because the engine is still under warranty, and this time they decided to have it shipped out to a Mitsubishi specialist. Should it be fine, or is there something else I should maybe look into fixing? I tried fuel filter and a few things like that....but that didn't help. I appreciate any advice.
