I have a lightweight crank pulley on my Coop. I havent had any problems and I like how it feels.

There have been a ton of known failures due to the non-dampened crank pulleys (N1, Unorthodox, etc.). The harmonics kill oil pump gears when non-dampened.

It's not needed. BMW's hate it and I crewed for a team that road raced 200+whp Honda's for over 10 years...they did not use them. Stick with it harmonically balanced and lose the weight with a quality lightweight flywheel or even knife edging the crank.
