Exactly my point.. In no way am I saying that the Enzo isn't a "driver's car", but the F40 is more of one than the Enzo.. Little things add or take away from the "feel" of driving, a paddle shifting gearbox is one of them..

That is if you define "driver's car" the same way Leno and I see it..

Very true, a Ferrari with no aids is not an easy car to enthusiastically drive..

    Exactly.

What you people aren't understanding is NISSAN TALKED SHIT, and when in real life someone tests their crap, it doesn't add up.

    aka Nissan = ricer.

were not building cars, we are buying them this is a stock v stock comparison. i could build my moms pt cruiser to beat a gtr with the price difference. that dont mean anything..

nissan really didnt talk shit.. they promoted the car like any other company does. And they put it up against its competition. like any other car company does.

Im pretty sure if nissan felt the GTR would perform better with a normal gearbox it would have put one in it. i dont know why you all think the GTR isnt any different from the previous.. the previous gtr had plenty of gizmos and gadgets for its time. Just like any other japanese car, they are full of gadgets, and sophisticated driving aids. It wouldnt be a japanese car without it.

jay leno is a car guy he will love whatever he drives.. he drove the GTR lvoed it, he drove the gt2 loved it....he drove his shogun he said it was his favorite car.. does it mean its better than the gt2?

fact remains.. gtr for the price its a amazing car. You all say its just a Nissan soo much.. but this Nissan is getting all this attention from ferrari/porsche/lambo drivers.

Not really. A lot of them just LOL at the GTR and say they wouldn't trade their's in for one. A couple sure, but nowhere near the majority.

lol you are definatly the LAST porsche owner who would or even try speak for ANY other porsche owner... There is a think line between knowing and liking alot.

If you have a car thats being compared to yours all over, even by your own manufacturer you kind of tend to pay attention to it. i mean its pretty normal, it comes a time when you realize your rivals and know your enemies. just like their are plenty of vette drivers who track their cars. And know to look out for the cheaper well built civics/miatas/focus etc..

Who the fuck said I was trying to speak for others? I've seen them say this, I've even seen a guy sell his 911 I think it was and get a GTR, hated it and went right back I believe. Seeing what happens and what people say is not the same as speaking for them. Your paragraph is fucking worthless considering that's not what we're even talking about it. We have acknowledge that people pay attention to it. No shit but I'm saying they pay attention, laugh, and then turn away.

Jitb, i got respect for you but seriously, a proper car person would try different cars no matter where they come from. With that said, there is a huge portion of us that will discredit a car as soon as we dont get a proper gearbox. Remember the pole i made?

If the GTR was allowed to be a drivers car instead of the fastest pentium, we wouldn't have this talk as i'd be defending the slower 6 speed R35 over the "im not talented enough to control the power so i need the car to do it and i brag about it later transmission."

just because people prefer something over another doesnt mean its better or worse. i am willing to put money on it, the GTR wouldnt be able to do half of what it can do with a 6spd manual. To me thats all opinion, i understand people dont like it, but i also wont discredit it or count it against it for its performance. Of all the cars with gadgets/ paddle shifters what makes the GTR such a bad car for having it...thats what i dont understand

My issue isn't just with the GTR. It is also with Ferrari and Mercedes. They forgot what a manual was many years ago.

And tech can't always solve the power issue. I know Top Gear isn't the best example but this really does hit the nail on the head.

Brabus SL....Watch the car go through a corner and see the traction control literally make it shake because it doesn't know what to do. watch at 4:30

Spy Shots: 450-hp Porsche GT3 RS caught running 'Ring
by Damon Lavrinc on Jun 3rd 2008 at 10:02AM

We're expecting to see the redesigned 911 unveiled later this week, but Autocar's spies have caught the next iteration of the GT3 RS running at the Nurburgring ahead of its unveiling later next year. As is often the case with Porsche, it's hard to discern any substantive differences between this newest version of the GT3 RS and the current model, but when the new 911 makes its debut, it'll be wearing a redesigned front bumper, along with LED headlights and taillights, all of which will carry over to the GT3 RS.

Granted, these subtle changes aren't that compelling, but Porsche has big plans for what's underneath the new model's sheet metal. The GT3 RS will supposedly be packing another 40 hp over the outgoing model, developing 450 hp at peak output. However, there's been considerable debate about whether or not the GT3 RS' engine will be equipped with direct-injection, considering it's traditionally been based off the GT1 racecar. Harnessing those extra ponies will be a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission (Porsche Doppel Kupplung or PDK in Porsche parlance) that will provide seamless and ultra-quick shifts through steering wheel-mounted paddles. Purists might complain about a lack of a manual gearbox, but that's what purists do. So expect a manual version to be an option when it goes on sale in late 2009 or early 2010.

The only gibberish i took out of that.

I see scaffolding in the back!!!

i saw it already, some instances its true.. sometimes it hurts, sometimes it helps.

truth is, we are not gonna get the cars from the past that were perfect without any electronics and gadgets. its not gonna happen. im sure if it was possible to do this with the price and safety and everyday reliability nissan would do it.

    LOL,
I highly doubt they will add more horsepower then the GT3 though. That would be an extra 15 and then the switch to PDK? I dunno brother

Ford GT - One of the smartest decision's Ford ever made.
Z06/ZR1 - Proof Kentucky knows how to make world class sports cars
GT500 - Proof Americans can go fast in a straight line and be satisfed.
    Super Snake - Read Above
Viper - Proof that a second generation of a car can be worse than the first. (Especially if the French arn't responsible in improving it)

lol....but still, these cars are built for performace and raw power...there just something to me bout fighting a car to grap traction is way more fun then a car that turns with a flick of the wrist.

    and yes i love the 1st gen viper,but i give the 2nd gen credit...it is a beast

That's a major part of road racing.

In any car no matter fwd, rwd, or awd. Anything with any level of power will lose grip once the weight begins to shift. The best drivers will find the grip and accelerate out of the corner faster.

i agree with you...but i just think the viper, vette and GT get overlooked as being ultimate driver cars.

i mean the vette is the most tamed of the group, but these cars will get u in trouble fast and harder to drive them at thier limits.

Yeah, but honestly I have seen more wrecked Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches on a road course then Vettes. So despite all the "crazy tech" gizmos people say are on these, they will spin, break loose, get sideways, etc all day long lol.

I think that there is proof money does NOT equal driving talent. Besides, most of those Ferrari owners stand around and talk about the track capability and don't have what it takes to get out there and run.
