I realize that but, i'm a die hard DIY bastard, more fun to be had doing it on my own. Also i've never boosted a car before so it would be a learning experience.

Do you have any input on the original question?

I've got the complete intake manifold, throttle body, downpipe already, and a big ol' turbo that's been sitting around my buddy's garage.

ECU, Boost control, Tranny, piping, BOV, wastegate, Intercooler... Is there anything i'm leaving out?

You will spend way more turboing the car than just getting a T2. Everything is different. You need the tranny and the rear end also, as your stock ones are too weak. Buy a TII, then do exhaust, intake, and fuel.

to turbo an NA rotary motor is asking for trouble. you dont wanna run more then 6psi.
the rotors have high compression then turbo rotors and once you detanate once, its rebuild time.

for serious power look into a 13brew. for an easy direct swap... get a TII motor and tranny and diff. they are ALL stronger.

we almost have our 13bt running in our rx3 with a NA tranny. we'll see how well it holds up

It is all in the tuning you'll need a good engine management like a microtech lt10 for your mazda and you'll be ok with the N/A-t swap remember to get the facking valves out of the 6 port system.
