    whats the widest tire i can fit on a 20*8.5 +40mm Offset 6.25" Backspace rim.

    probably like a 205/40-20.....

    8.5 inch wheel?

    You could fit anything down to a 205 and up to probably a 255 or 265. Hell a 275 may even fit.
