wrong place to ask. U will get bashed.
but get a spare set of rims/tires, and find a drift day. dgtrials.com, SEDA.com, and other sites like that would be a good start.
btw, it helps to have a 5speed, and lsd.

    Save ur engines!

Extra tires and a empty run-down parking lot away from everything.

im surprised theres not any hxc n00b bashing going on yet. thats not a abd thing though.

just get some old shitty tires and a BIG empty parking lot, and go at it. it helps to have a 5 speed. since you arent using it for anything competitive, id say just get some aftermarket lowering springs and better shocks, adjustable if the budget allows. set the dampening neutral f/r and go play around. but dont be surprised if you get in some trouble. haha. be smart and dont do it on the street, endangering other peoples lives is never good. most cops wont really give you a hard time as long as youre doing it in a relatively safe place.

Go to an event, lots of people will help you.

I find e-brake drifting the hardest lol...

Really, flick the car, a little Scandinavian flick will do the trick, mess yup the weight distribution, and throw the car. Don't use too much hand input, let the steering wheel slide in your hands, when you are sideways getting on the brakes will add some more angle, be easy with the throttle and learn. SPIN OUT A LOT, find the limit of your car in a safe environment, spin out all day at a DG Trials event or something.

e-brake drifting is the easiest I thought?

I use it whenever I have to make a tight U-turn lol Come in with a little speed, yank that thing and make a 20 foot radius turn

^^ no, e brakes are for instant angle.

another thing i might add, doing it in the rain or when the pavement is wet will make it easier/cheaper to learn. dry pavement isnt as forgiving as wet.

lol.... play lots of Initial D and you'll be a pro drifter... or just swap in a SR20DET and get some TEIN suspension... those also make you instant drifting sensation.

^^^ That's what worked for me. Although you have to keep a close eye on your car when Race Wars comes around. Those engines pull a premium the week before.

Practice makes perfect. Go find a large open parking lot and practice when its wet. My friend used to drift his 2004 mustang gt everywhere. I wouldn't worry about your suspension until you figure it out. But definitely upgrade cause those have more body roll than my moms minivan. Also I wouldn't recommend e-braking my friend would always power over. Chances are your e-brake doesn't work good enough to lock them up anyway but if that is the case and you must e-brake quickly jab the brake as you yank the e-brake.
To sum this up there's no wax on wax off way to learning it, you learn by doing it.

Despite what the Fast and the Furious would like you to think, pulling the e-brake is NOT the easiest way to drift. It is however the easiest way to lose control of the car. The line between those two things is sorta blurred though haha

Yeah in the wet you learn a LOT, and don't have to try as hard, plus it doesn't equal as much wear and tear.

As for the e-brake thing true, it's useful on u-turns lol, or to quickly initiate the drift, but I find in MY car a quick faint and brake dab is just as simple. Obviously that varies car to car.

I don't have a SR20, but I do have a turbo...and I might not have the all-mighty TEIN suspension.... but I have this suspension that I got off ebay and I think it's called "Ohlins" or something junky like that...

Get that shit off your car. I can't let a friend drive around with junky parts... I'll take your old suspension (just to make sure you don't put those sub-standard parts back on your car) and I'll get you these... They're D2 FULL RACING COILOVERS!!! Which has to mean they are better than that shit they use in D1 cars.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

and I'll throw in a Mazdaspeed lanyard.

    lol @ how to drift

get a rwd car manual with 300+ whp with a damn good suspension, find a big open area, go 60mph, downshift and cut the wheel and voila, your sideways...

now after 2 trannys, 2 diffs, and 20 sets of tires you might be ok at it
