Any car is worth turboing if you're willing to invest into it. Besides, i don't believe it's too expensive. If you can take the time to put a charger on a V6 mustang, a V6 eclipse shouldn't be that bad either. About 5-8 psi should hold your over.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

I gotta cosign with you bro. The 3g eclipse is the bastard child of the series....the 4g isn't so bad, and the 1/2g are great, but the 3g is just awful.

Not saying you can't do it, but I'm not a fan atall.
    My car is factory....

Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

the 3rd gen strikes me as the car dads get their little girls when they turn 16, not that its a bad car or anything, you just dont see too many that arent riced out or just completely destroyed. if you can do it tho man, more power to ya!

as biased as this may sound, the mustang at least has some styling to it. im just not a fan of that gen eclipse. also if you knew the price i payed for my blower, injectors, programmer, and dyno tune you would see why i sc'd a v6. plus when you see a GT you expect it to be quick. when you see a v6 most think, oh thats cute, untill they hear that whine. thats why i love it!

i do see what your saying tho, and 8lbs of boost is plenty for some fun. im only running 7.....for now lol

you know i highly respect your opinion but in this case I have to disagree with you.You and I have had this discussion before but I thought I should enlighten our friend here

These motors are built by chrysler so by default they are garbage. To get this to run in the neighborhood of 300whp RELIABLY expect to put down around 10K on this build. These motors do not hold boost very well. There is a 2 page thread on club3g com which can be seen here as to why these motors blow up on a regular basis.Having previously owned a 2nd Gen and Currently owning a 3rd gen I will have to say in the way of making power GET A 2ND GEN GST or GSX and go from there.

As far as the argument of this thing being ugly or not, it's a subjective thing. Me personally I have had my car for 2 years and i think my tC>my 3rd gen in the styling department, and the fun to drive department, and the easy to maintain department, and just about every other department. This car was meant to go after the V6 mustang premium. And it did that..........to a certain extent. I will admit that when the alginment on this car is correct (which mine isn't at the moment), these are very comfortable cars. It's a GT car not a sub compact and not a sports car. It was designed for long commutes and for comfort. Which is one thing this car is. These cars have so many weak points on them however that they are hard to over look.

First and foremost being the suspension. While like I said it is a GT car, it still drives like a lincoln town car and the struts are on the weak side. My front ones are about to go out. It is still a coupe so you would expect it to be some what sporty but it simply isn't.

Anyways before I go off on a tangent. The short and simple answer is no. It's not worth doing. For what it would cost you to build this motor to be semi-reliable you could buy a 2G GST shell do a 6 bolt swap go BPU+++ and have 300whp RELIABLY on the stock motor. If you have any more questions feel free to PM. I kno more about these cars then I care to.

Don't waste your money. It's not the kind of car you really want to mod or put money into. Unless of course your rich and then I say screw it, it's your money. Then again if you were rich, you wouldn't be pimp'in in the 16 yr old schoolgirl car.

There is a guy over on GADSM who SC'd his 3g GT eclipse. He spent all that money on one of the RIPP chargers, complete with HORROR story about the company. We were messing around on the way home from a buddies house one night out in the boondocks, and he could NOT get away from me. We ran door for door up to 120 before I shut it down. He spent more on his SC kit than I did on my car, and he was just as fast as I was.

Clean car, looks great for a 3g, Ive ridden in it and it is definitely quick, but even if you ask him its not worth the money. Like Red said, those cars are just not built to handle any kind of power. He has had tons of stupid little issues with his since he SC'd it because of the cheap way it was made.

You need to get something that was boosted from the factory. Start with a 2g either GST or GSX and go from there. Ive had 4 boosted DSM's and as long as you take care of them they are great cars.
