you know i highly respect your opinion but in this case I have to disagree with you.You and I have had this discussion before but I thought I should enlighten our friend hereOriginally Posted by blackshine007
These motors are built by chrysler so by default they are garbage. To get this to run in the neighborhood of 300whp RELIABLY expect to put down around 10K on this build. These motors do not hold boost very well. There is a 2 page thread on club3g com which can be seen here as to why these motors blow up on a regular basis.Having previously owned a 2nd Gen and Currently owning a 3rd gen I will have to say in the way of making power GET A 2ND GEN GST or GSX and go from there.
As far as the argument of this thing being ugly or not, it's a subjective thing. Me personally I have had my car for 2 years and i think my tC>my 3rd gen in the styling department, and the fun to drive department, and the easy to maintain department, and just about every other department. This car was meant to go after the V6 mustang premium. And it did that..........to a certain extent. I will admit that when the alginment on this car is correct (which mine isn't at the moment), these are very comfortable cars. It's a GT car not a sub compact and not a sports car. It was designed for long commutes and for comfort. Which is one thing this car is. These cars have so many weak points on them however that they are hard to over look.
First and foremost being the suspension. While like I said it is a GT car, it still drives like a lincoln town car and the struts are on the weak side. My front ones are about to go out. It is still a coupe so you would expect it to be some what sporty but it simply isn't.
Anyways before I go off on a tangent. The short and simple answer is no. It's not worth doing. For what it would cost you to build this motor to be semi-reliable you could buy a 2G GST shell do a 6 bolt swap go BPU+++ and have 300whp RELIABLY on the stock motor. If you have any more questions feel free to PM. I kno more about these cars then I care to.
