    Default brakes

    okay, so i got new brakes pads, new rotors, new tires, no more squeaks and squeals.. but i still have a problem.. it only happens when i drive 55 or more.. and start braking.. it starts to shake and steering wheel does too.. any idea??

    hmmm if you hadn't replaced all of that i would of said maybe the rotors are warped. but you said you replaced them. the only other thing i would think could be the brake booster maybe? what kind of car is btw

    tires could be off balance. prolly one of the fronts.

    that is a good point as well. but it would jerk while accelerating as well as stopping. as it might have knot as well..

    my dd is a 99 Accord, it doesnt shake when i accelerate but it shakes when i step on the brakes when im hittin about 55 or more, and it stops shaking when it hits down to 25... i changed the rotors, pads, new tires........... havent gotten a balance yet

    Did you set (break-in) the pad or did you installed everything and took off? If you didn't properly set the pads more than likely thats the problem.

    check all your bushings on the front end. double check at your lug nuts are tight. also rotate your tires an see if it increase deceases or stays the same. when u put your tires back on did u use a impact gun or a tq wrench/tq stick? check your wheel bearings also.

    thats all i can think of at the moment.

    if it still does it have ur rotors machined. ive worked at several shops and i wrk at autozone right now pt and ive had to machine new rotors right out of the box bc parts place see a hunk of metal and drop, throw and slam them around bc they just dnt know ne better. it really sux doing a brake job, driving it and having to take hot ass rotors back off to machine them.

    true... ive had to do a few right out the box also.
