    as wide as you want. I'm running a 235 on an 8.5" wheel right now but im gonna get some 255's soon

    You should be able to get a 245 on there, I'm not sure if you can go any bigger.

    Well I know I've seen a chart before comparing wheel widths to tire widths, but I can't seem to find it right now.

    Realistically, I think you should be fine with anything from 225-255. I run 225s on my 8" wheels, but I know people that run 245s no problem (if their fenders don't get in the way).

    275/35s will fit, but its a bulge. 245/45 or 255/50 are smack in the middle of the range of a 8" wide rim.

    It's not recommended to go any wider than a 255 on an 8" wheel, however, I've seen as wide as a 265 done with no problems. I definetly wouldn't go any wider than that. Just my $.12.
