234whp with the RMF , but it killed my top end, so we are switching back to the hytech to see if i pick up more power up top. I think the 3in collector is too much

    stay tuned

237whp. we kept losing tach signal, but its legit. TQ with the spike gone was 158TQ

    RMF vs RAGE
    *DISCLAIMER*
this is a CUSTOM header that was NOT made for this motor, it is one of a kind. RMF did NOT build this header FOR THIS MOTOR. It has a 3in collector, so that may be why it lost power. stay tuned as i get the right header for my application. remember the RMF killed the Rage/Hytech along with SMSP in my 1.8l test.

I know its cool... Yea should have a good bit of tq for a hatch,,With the whp im shooting for i would like to see a 11sec pass. They say a good all motor setup on nitrous is hard to beat. No lag and tons of tq and throttle response...Your setup on nitrous would be quick !

yeah i think bee was in the 11s or damn near it. he never had alot of seat time in it IMO.

Good luck, and be safe, nitrous backfires are a bitch so i hear. thats what i like about the nitrous, its not the whp gain, its the TQ gain. i will take a TQ gain over a whp gain anyday.

i was going to run a 100shot on mine, but not anytime soon, not in a hurry to rebuild it yet lol

That would be sick... I dont have to worry about nitrous back fires, i used a dry kit as called for by hondata. This way i am getting no fuel in the intake .. Just turn up the 450's with the hondata nitrous control. This way i can tune for all motor , then run another tune for the nitrous at the flick of a switch.. This will be my safest setup so far. I have raced with nitrous for about 5 years , dynoed about all the kits out there . I have only lost 1 motor to it {damn fuel noid} and it was to a fuel noid dying and me not knowing what i was doing..Yea the TQ on nitrous is sick . I got 156tq to the wheels with a stock d16 on a 55 shot! Or on my old lude i got 149tq off and 190tq{55shot} on the bottle...This why i am going with nitrous and a h22. Do you think i can get 250whp with 450's?

    450cc injectors?

i wouldnt think so. itll be close,i would rather have a bigger injector when run nitrous.

im running 345cc injectors, and a walbro fuel pump (you need one if you dont have it already). my fuel pressure is around 62psi at WOT. so that tells you i could prob USE a slightly bigger injectors (400cc). My duty cycle doesnt go above 100% until 8700rpms so im happy with where its at, and its not dangerous. but i might get a bigger injector later.

with nitrous, i know it atomizes fuel better, but im not keen on the effects it has with smaller and bigger injectors. IE can you run a 450cc injector with more FP and get away with it, or , does it need more fuel to keep buring longer, im not sure.

I would think you would need around a 500-550cc inj to be safe, (80-100shot). id rather have too much fuel than not enough personally.

your making 186whp now right? with a 80 shot you should have enough to get NEAR 250whp. But i would think a wet kit is better is it not? thats what all my friends like, direct port wet kits.

Its fine as long as you have a few things and TUNE it ..Then you can unpucker when you spray..

Yea i was talking about dsm 450's . I have a set i sent off to rc and got them cleaned and tested. Now when running off the nitrous i have 40psi at wot , when i spray itll be 60-70psi . This is for a 50 shot . Now if i want to up the nitrous ill have to add the fuel via the hondata as thats all the fuel the dry kit will add. But with me running the higher fuel pressure i wont have to add a lot of fuel . I have a 190walbro i am putting in the day i dyno it. I think with the way the kit adds fuel i should get to or right under 250whp.. I have been planing this for a while . I want it to be safe , i.e i dont want the pucker factor you normally get with nitrous. I had a safe setup in my lude but it was just a 50 shot as the stock fuel system was maxed. The wet kits are better if you run them alone. But if you call hondata or look on the site they say to go with the dry if you run it thru the hondata . Now why i went with one is i have used a LOT of kits and this one was the only kit i installed jetted like they said and ran a 100% SAFE air/fuel out of the box. I had a n/x kit and it did good made great power but the pucker factor of hood removal{nitrous back fire} is to hi. With the hondata it adds the fuel and you know its safe but you have to have a in car fuel pressure gauge to make shure its where it needs to be when you spray{i have one}. A lot of people hate dry kits due to kits like zex{worst kit have ever had on a dyno..lean is all ill say}that kill motors . I think this setup will give me good power at the track but i can still daily the car...

im sure with more runs i would have broken into high 11's with the 70 shot i had in my hatch... but after that event i had to go turbo LOL....

i have used both dry and wet and i can actually feel the wet kit working alot better than the dry for some reason. with the dry i couldnt feel the "PULL" but with the wet it spun instantly on my 95 Prelude VTEC....

im sure ur 450cc will do fine but for 250whp... good luck and see guys soon at the track

How hard it "hits" just depends on how close the nozzle is to the TB.With wet it is mounted a LOT closer to the TB. Also how good its purged and bottle temp. The dry does roll it a little more but its good for traction...

both kit was setup with the same nozzle at the same distance and within 5 days of each other.... at that time both were at 900psi

i like wet kits better bc Dave schooled me and told me that u dnt have to depend on the ecu to add fuel. With nitrous automatically comes fuel.

Sameway if you run it thru the hondata and use the nitrous control..

running it through ur ecu is only so u can control when it turns on. Im pretty sure both kits work the same whether ran on a manual microswitch or through ur ecu.

[QUOTE=Goinfasterthanu] Also like i said if you just run the kit alone , yea wet is better..
are u saying if ur boosting a dry kit is better? if so why?

NO..no..no...Hondata has a FULL nitrous control. When you throw the switch it changes to your nitrous "tune" ...i.e. it can change your fuel and timing . So you can tune on and off the nitrous . This is why i got the hondata ....Go to their site and read....

    From the site....

Important - Read the warnings at the end of this page.

    What is Nitrous Control?

Nitrous Control is a feature of the s100 & s200 systems where the ECU control the use of Nitrous Oxide in the engine. A dry Nitrous setup is be used (where the fuel is supplied by the ECU), with the ECU switching the Nitrous solenoid on via an output pin from the ECU. Another pin input to the ECU is used to arm the system.

    How does it work?

The ECU will ground an output pin to open a Nitrous control solenoid when a number of conditions are met:

    Nitrous system is armed.
Engine speed is above a minimum setting.
Throttle position is above a minimum setting.
Vehicle speed is above a minimum setting.
At the same time the ECU switches the Nitrous on, it will supply an additional amount of fuel to the injectors, and optionally retard the ignition timing.

    Form the site....

why a 190 and not a 255? 255 is always better IMO because the pump is only controlled by the FPR. the bigger the injectors, the more the pump ahs to work, and the more prone to failure.

    sell the 190, get a 255, my .02

So i can just drop the 255 right in? I was told it would raise my fuel pressure to much due to the stock fpr not letting enought fuel by. But i was thinking it should be ...dunno... I would like to put it in before i get to the dyno..

the 190 might be enough for it to work, however longevity wise, a 255 is better IMO. heres why:

a 190 will push the 450cc injectors, thats no problem. but it will be pushing HARDER than a bigger pump. so, your injector duty cycle will be higher, and the amount of Fuel Pressure you are running will put strain on the 190 pump.

now with a 255, the fuel pressure can be lower, and the efficiency goes up of the injectors and the regulator. less prone to dieing out.

you can put a 255 Fuel Pump on a STOCK CX motor, it wont make it run more rich, the FPR is what controls the fuel at the rail. that determines how much fuel you have. not the pump. it just means you can run lower FP and get the same spray pattern and a lower duty cycle=longer injector life

imagine if your mid throttle on the bottle and the fuel pump fails :gasp:

what fuel pump do you have? 80% is fine, but if you try an boost 15-20psi, is that enough, NOPE.

im just saying, the 190 is the same price as the 255 fuel pump. why not get a bigger one, thats all. I think its worth the investment since its the sme price to be on the safe side, and hes got room to grow if he decides to do more later
