Default rebuilt my 00 B16 Tranny

Hey whats up IA members, I bought a B16 tranny for a all motor set up that i was planning to do, but i changed my plans to go boost . I know many people say LS tranny is the way to go but the gears seem too long for me. So i was thinking about putting some Type R gears in there and LSD. What should i do? Who do u go to? Whats a good place where i can rebuilt my tranny and are reasonable? Thanx

if you're going boost, i would go with an LS tranny. or something w/ long gears so you can hold each gear longer and get the full use of boost in every gear. you can always put an LSD in an LS tranny

No. The shorter geared tranny is going to accelerate faster. Run the B16a tranny if your mph lets you. Otherwise, get GSR 4th or GSR 3rd and 4th gears if need be for mph.

To OP, ITR and B16a gear ratios are the same for USDM.

gsr tranny is the best for boost if u just want to drop a tranny in without doing the gear swap game. b16 gears are too short so u dnt get to stay in boost long and if u make anykinda descent power ur gonna start spinning when u get to full boost. i was almost in 5th gear when going through the traps with my b16 tranny. also they are supposed to have the weakest diff. ive seen several ppl spitting spider gears through their case. I guess i was lucky bc mine never broke. it just "walked off". LMAO!!!

i raced a crx with almost equal power and had to shift the shit out of my car to try and keep up bc he was still pulling while i was constantly shifting.

ls gears are too long and will take u a min to get to ur powerband.

what kinda motor are you boosting???If its somthing like a b16 then low torque will be nice for boost,So it kinda depends on which motor also...
