It's computer controlled for the majority of it's flights. Controled by a GPS system. Basically input destination and it takes off and does the flying for you. Has over 7 Processors to be redundant in case one fails. You should read on the site and it answers most every question you can think of. I just think it's interesting.

And if you don't think the sky car is impressive, at least his re-designed Wankel Rotary engine is cool. 75 pound motor makes 150hp, the more rotaries you add, the mor HP. Basically you have an engine that makes twice as much HP as it weighs. They also have a small briefcase size Generator that is already in production that they have been in contract discussion with an un-disclosed Automaker to make a Hybrid Electric/rotary powered vehicle.
    It's an interesting read.

Well the initial ones will cost $450k approx. Those are already spoken for by investers. If/when they ever were to get them mainstream, they have stated around $100-150k. Which is not extremely bad considering it's a plane of sorts, but then again it's not reasonable for the average joe(me). They are mainly marketing to the Armed forces and the police and Medical response services at the moment due to it's vertical take off and ability to hover. They have a cool video on the site that simulates a situation in which it could be used in a 9-11 WTC sitution to rescue a person from a 103 stories up by hovering to a window, extending a platform from the front and the person stepping onto it.
They currently have a contract to produce a Smaller ATV like version that uses 6 turbines to hover 10-15' above the ground traveling up to 55 mph. They are marketing them to the Park Rangers and other similar folks because they can use them to go over ANY terrain with ease. Sort of like a SUPER hover craft. That assembly line is in the works now.

From the press releases they also have a couple different contracts to provide the Freedom Motors Rotary engine for other 3rd party distributors to use in vehicles such as Snow mobiles and jetski's.
