I just dont understand whats goin on with the racing world. i mean seriously are you really going to follow the crowd? i think its funny you guys havent thought about any real import. i mean thats what they are called "Imports" so why doesnt anyone get any?... i mean not to be an ass you can have your unique paint jobs but i mean that doesnt really seperate you from anyone else. like instead of buying like a body kit why dont you make your own? Its very simple to do. also you get these rims from different rim companies. yet again design and send it in get something unique made? But the thing that confuses me the most is why you people doont get the "Rice Burners" or the "Imports"? I mean mitsubishi is american made honda american made im talkin like the Volvos or Aston martins or something like that i mean even a kia would be more of a rice burner than the mitsubishi and the neon combined. OK people buy mass produced aftermarket parts for 2 reasons..... 1. They actually work b/c people who get paid to think designed them and 2. b/c they are much cheaper than custom stuff.

Aight Cap seriously how hard is it come up with an idea for a body kit and rims. you misunderstood what i wrote. what i said about the rims was to come up with a design and have them made. but the body kits arent hard at all. all you have to do for the body kit is really just get some sheet metal (1/8 inch to 1/4 inch) and then bend it cut it and take some fiiberglass spread spread it about 1/4 in thick across the body kit and then you have to sand it time consuming but very easy and i can gaurentee that if you come up with something of your own no one can call it theirs and no one can dis it.

see the reason you should do the body kit yourself is because its cheaper so that you can spend the money to get the rims made so that they are yours. no one will be able to say where did you get those, or where can i get a set, or whatever they might say.

Making a body kit is not easy, I'm pretty sure you can't just slap some fiberglass together and come up with something better looking than stock.

If you want to talk about guys tuning "REAL" imports, look at the Eurotuner crowd. VW, Audi, BMW, Merc, all made in Germany still, except for a few North America only models like the BMW Z-series and SUVs.

I understand that the volvo is made right now by ford. has been since 97 i believe. but thats besides the point because none of the new volvos would look good with body kits. they are fine the way they are, a 95 and older on the other hand would have some tuning leeway. now for the rims i have to keep saying that you come up with your own look for the rims come up with something that will be your own not just go buy them somewhere. when i make the next body kit for my car (1995 volvo 850) i will make a documentary on how to do it. it really isnt that hard. takes a lot of time but not hard to do. I am going to get a lot of flack for this but honestly how much do you guys really know about your cars i mean i look through the forums and i see that you are having someone else work on "your" car. but see the reason it is meant to be "your" car is for you to do the work on it. i mean how many times have you actually talked to someone who has a nice car and they say ya it took this amount of time to complete and then you ask the queston that people dread, how much of the car did you actually put together and actually work on?

i didnt i was too young but yes i have built a lot of houses just for the people that wanted it done right. they wanted it to be theirs and i helped build their house how they wanted it.

To be honest man, I'm prolly the wrong person to talk to about that. Honda spent millions of $$$ designing those three cars in my sig, and I pretty much agree that they look pretty dang good.

Now don't get me wrong, I have seen some decent looking kits; even some that might help with performance (for example, more air to a turbo). But to be quite honest with you, I'll probably never turbo a car that isn't turboed in the first place, and if I want a better looking car, I'll probably just buy one.

He then put out an offer to make a body kit for my Fit, which I respectfully declined, and extended that same offer/challenge to everyone on the board.
