I know, I just want Ran to tell us where he gets that from. He trying to justify buying the Kia with Mazda qualities.

It was designed by the same people and IIRC it's running the old Mazda BP motor. I'd have to double-check though.

Either way, I test drove one and was pleasantly surprised. The car is quite spirited and handles pretty well. Body roll was at a minimum and the 140HP motor moved the little wagon in a quick (not fast) manner. The exterior is easy on the eyes with the only real eyesore being the blocky bulge on the front for a front plate, but other than that it looked really good in black. The interior was okay. The guages were a little bland and the seaweed green dials could go away. The seats weren't very comfy and offered so side support at all. They did look good though, lol. The center dash was decent with the seaweed green lighting but everything was simple and easy to figure out. The knobs felt a little cheap, but nothing aside from that. Door trims and other little dress-up bits were at a minimum but added a nice touch to what would otherwise be just another Kia interior.

I'd rate the car a 7.5/10 because of the lackluster interior, but it gets high marks in exterior appearance and fun-to-drive factor.

Not sure if I'll be happy with a trade-in or if it'll really help me with my financial situation in the long run. Still running some numbers so I'll check back with you guys later.

naw homes, i wish it did have a bp in it, but its all hyundai, but it was designed by the same guy that did the P5 . its said to have the same handling characteristics as the P5 tho. but its no mazda....

The only kia/mazda was the 94-97 Sephia's they had Bp motors in them..

There are cars that look better, drive better, are more reiable, and are cheaper than kia's.

list a car u can get for 11k brand new, with a 10 year, 100k warranty...

There is a thick line in between the Forum world, and the Real World.. Not all cars are meant to be super track/handling speed stars.

Thanks for the non-constructive feedback and for obviously not even reading the thread. Please go back to the WL.

There are Nissans that quality as a POS or barely better than a POS, as well as Toyotas and Hondas.

While past Kias were not leaders in engineering they continue to get better and gain ground.

    This is coming soon.

FYI, Kia has a V-8 with a 6 speed in their new Borrego. Nissan, hell ACURA does not offer that combo.

That concept looks SO nice. To me, it's like what the Civic should have looked like.
