Default Hyundai Genesis coupe..The new "it" car?

The car comes out in spring 09...

It's rear wheel drive, comes with either a turbocharged inline 2.0L 4 banger producing 223 hp, or a 3.8L v-6 making 310hp. And both models are mated with a 6-speed manual tranny. (Although I'm sure they will make auto's as well.) And the best part.....the 4 cylinder model will start at $20k, and the v-6 model will start at $25K....sounds too good to be true...

there's no news of a v8 version yet, but that doesn't mean they won't offer one in the future.

if the price between camaro and the Hyundai coupe is minimum, i will definitely pick the new camaro over Hyundai. But either way, both car are attractive on design, performance and price tag of course.

I don't doubt that there will be plenty of Camaro aftermarket. Probably on scale with the Mustang, coincidentally what the camaro price bracket will resemble as well. Mustangs MSRP base at 19,795 with no options at all, and of course the much loved 4.0l. Premium V6 is in the range of 22,085 and a base GT starts at 26,775. A Premium GT is 28,725.

Now the funny thing is that horse for horse, the GT is comparable with the V6 Genesis, and the Turbo 4 Genesis is comparable with the V6 base model mustang. Since they match well pricewise, powerwise, we have to think about other things.

Like it being a Ford. Or a Chevy. Personally I'm anticipating the 2010 Mustang to beat the Camaro by having Turbo V6 action happening for it. I can hope Ford gets smarter.

I was never on a GT-R train...But if I had 70K to spend, I'd buy one. I think I am just as entitled to that opinion as you are to whatever you would buy with 70K. It does not mean I am a nutswinger or whatever...

I just don't like how people can criticize it's ability and driving experience when they've never driven it. But that goes for any car. Anyway, no hard feelings....

I drove one the other day. I gotta say, I was VERY impressed. At first glance I couldnt even tell it was a Hyundai.

Hmm, the real decision is going to be the Genisis or a SKY. The Ecotech has proven itself to be very badass. Only complaints that I have heard are the tranny being a little notchy. Maybe the Genisis with have a nice tranny, lsd, and I suppose its more practical than the SKY.

B/c the turbo models have similar HP and price. You can compair a GXP solstice or Sky to the mustang or the camero. Honeslty they will probably be faster along with the genesis.

The Sky/Solstice turbo models have the same price as the Mustang GT, but make less power, get worse fuel economy, and sacrifice practicality. I don't think they're really the same market. You could just get a GT convertible and get the best of both worlds. Probably for cheaper too after negotiating.

Sky looks a lot better though...

Though I completely agree that they are for two different markets...
