    Default 1984 crx si

ok, so on sunday im picking up a 1984 crx si. the guy has dropped a d16a1 motor in it. now he said the previous owner had slung a rod but not sure, could jsut be knocking really bad and internals need to be replaced. my question is this:
what motors can i fit into a crx without have to cut or do anything to dramatic, if that makes any sense. i know the first gen integra motors fit. also how much do they cost roughly. i don't want to put a slow motor in it but i know u cant do to much without having to cut anything, ect. im new at this so any help would be great, thanks

i dont know if you realize it, but the d16a1 is a first generation integra motor. so if its already in the car, you could swap in a ZC. they are practically identical and make a little bit more power. i think the d16a6 will fit as well. anyone help me out here. lol

first off, the crx Si model didnt exist until '85. secondly is it a PGM-FI car? if it's carbeurated you may as well start shopping for a parts car to convert it to fuel injection if you want to swap it.
    Who knows?

QFT... CRX Si models started in 85... make sure that it's atleast an 85 model and make sure that its Si.... because it could be that its a carbed model and he swapped it in thinking everything was gunna be plug and play and then realized he was in over his head and decided to sell it... unless he just went through all of the trouble of converting it....

and to answer your question.... the brown top DOHC ZC will bolt directly in and so will the D16a1.... if he has truly done the D16a1 swap already, you will not be able to go back to the D15a3/EW4 platform without changing the hubs....
