    Exclamation The Miata gets its name back for 2009

    After being officially known as only the Mazda MX-5 from 2006 through 2008, Car And Driver reports that the 2009 model will now once again be officially called the MX-5 Miata.

    NO. Just like how in England the Dodge Viper is the Dodge SRT-10.

    Strange because when the old Viper was out it was called the Chrysler Viper.

    :tangent: I saw a Viper in Paris... that was REALLY weird looking.


    Anyways, I have a bunch of Europeans in my office and they all say Miata.... even though it's an MX-5 over there. I think they could badge the car MX-5 for 15 years and people would still say Miata.

    was the name change duo to a licensing agreement that someone had the miata name?

    Cause that is what happened with the Viper in Europe.

    Not sure. It has different names all over the world.... Miata, MX-5, Eunos Roadster.

    All of the ones I saw in Europe just said MX-5.... hell... mine says MX-5 but it's a 2005 and it was supposed to still be Miata then... I think they just like to confuse people who don't know much about cars.

    That car was in Japan and unfortunately, met an early death




    It was a really nice looking car though. Went around the boards posted as just about the nicest NC around. Too bad. It didn't live very long at all.
