Default help ASAP....G35 coupe, how wide for rears?

so what's the widest one can go on stock 18's on the back without rubbing. Car car .9" drop in the back. I was thinking 265/40/18. Factory size is 245/45/18 for rears.

not going bigger than 265...just not sure if 40 series would be too tall. I have seen 285/35/19 on a stock g35 (no drop) only rubbed while driving hard. I think they should fit without any rubbing issues. Would hate to get them then rub lol.

I had 285/30/20's on the rear of my G on a 10" wheel with stock springs. Those tires weren't even close to rubbing. I never went wider that 245 on the stock 18's but those tires are pretty wide for that wheel. I wish I could help you out more.

hey 265 should not rub, I had 275 on it with no problem but i'm not sure cuz it wasn't dropped. But why are you going 265?? I have 10.5 inch rims in the back and i'm running 285. I think the stock 18's are only 8 inches or so. By the way I have the white G one from monroe lol

man i been wondering if you were on here or not. stock rears are 8.5", but yea 265 might be too much of a tire. Two tires need to get replaced so gonna put 245's up front and bit wider in the back. I think gonna go with 255's then....265 might give too much of a mushy feeling. Did u have the 275's on stock or ur 19'S?

275/30/19 were on my volk 19's. 275 really was not wide enough gave it the stretched look. Upgraded to 285/35/19 b/c bad inside wear on the 275. Both 295 and 285 on mine rubbed my fenders on stock springs. I got 245 in the front on 9.5 in. not wide enough either and has the stretched look but can't afford tires lol. I just dropped it last weekend with tein s-techs so I rolled my own fenders in the rear and now there's no scrubbing at all lol. When did you get a G?

man ur G looks sick, those wheels alone set it off really nicely. Can't wait to see it with the drop, bring it to the Sonic meet this week. I think i am gonna stick with 255 since the wheels are only 8.5" wide. I got a fully built TT G, should be out of the shop today....it got lil more good fast goodies and a new tune . It will be at the meet.

now that I think about it, I have a buddy that had a G with 20x10 rears w/285/30/20s lowered w/an Eibach pro kit and he never mentioned any rubbing issues. I never asked about rubbing issues though...He used to be on here, but he moved....his screen name was "johnny chimpo" I think

I have 19x9.5/10.5 Volk wheels with +17/18 offsets. I have 275/30/19's in rear right now dropped on Tanabe GF210's with no rubbing unless in hard cornering. I will eventually get them rolled just for peace of mind. I use a 255 tire up front.

On another note. . . you have a built motor TT and will only have a 8.5" tire? Good luck with traction lol. Pics of the car? Who did the work?
