how specific dues tuning have to be when buying used tuned ECU

Im looking at a used MINES ecu for my sr...


it's tuned for everything i have BUT it's tuned for 444cc injectors, ill be using 555cc injectors. I can get it for a good price. Is that really going to damage the vehicle as I doubt it right? Probably still a much better improvement over stock?

How close does it really have to be?

depends on how much room for error you have for fueling. you'll be using injectors that are 111cc larger=richer. that's better than the other way and you may be able to compensate by reducing fuel pressure to lower the fuel.

a lot of times one person's tuned ecu is another's basemap.

Never trust it. With the Nissans it can be pretty close since they are MAF cars. The mafs have a tendency to compensate alot better than the MAP sensor cars.

What most people do is run the CHIPPED Rom tune ecu with a SAFC to fine tune it.

What you will want to do is put the ECU in the car, then call someone like Mainstream Performance and do a simple $50 3 pull session on the dyno to check the a/f ratio.

if its safe, let her rip, if its dangerous then you know you need to have it tuned and not to beat on it,.
