How reliable is a 996 turbo as a daily? I know they are expensive as balls to work on, and Porsche is very reliable, but @ the same time, it's a 911 turbo...and 996's are known for popping motors...

They use oil and eat clutches but other than that they seem to be pretty solid.
The one I'm looking @ goes out of warranty a year from October or 100k miles which ever comes first(october most likely)...the car has 36k miles on it and the guy just replaced the clutch/fly under the warranty.Originally Posted by koukis14

I'd be a bit more gentle with on of these knowing if I break something it's gonna suck ass paying for it, but @ the end of the day I probably need a dd...just wondering if it could last like 6 months as a daily till I got a Cayenne or something
Probably, what year Cayenne? Avoid 04s. If you are going to spend 996TT money I would get and RS4 or GTR or ZO6. All can be DD without fuss. Anyway if you are set on a Porsche good for you, they are sick cars. Remember Porsche is a 2 syllable word. I get **** for this on a daily basis.
I want a 2dr so rs4 is outOriginally Posted by koukis14
I respect the GTR's but im not a fan
Z06's are everywhere
911 turbo you don't see on a daily basis(where I live)...I'm looking @ 05-06 Cayenne's...I'm prob. gonna avoid the turbo model cuz I don't wanna deal with issues haha
I know Porsche is a 2 syllable word b/c my uncle embedded that in my head @ a young age. I'd rather have a 997 turbo but they are too pricey.
thanks for the input![]()

yeah but I'm trying to stay under 50k. I'm just doing my research right now, It'll be the end of the year till I get anything.
I like them too, depends on which one has lower mileage/better price
