Hmm, if the Prelude is Honda's "muscle car", then what is the Integra...?
I just had that random thought after looking through some websites doing some research on the H22 motor. On the website where i was looking at the H22, it said its the "big block" of Honda engines.
Okay, i can understand that's true, but what about the Integra, i always had the impression that it was kinda "up there" in stature as well...?

the integra is hondas way of saying there is a replacement for displacment.
besides, honda has 2.4 liter 4 cylinders now so the h is obsolete.

not to mention all the V6's. we have a 300hp NA 3.7 V6 in the RL, and thats the old j-series SOHC.

The Ingtegra and Civic were built on similar platforms. Honda needed an entry level car for the Acura line back in 86 so the Integra was born. Yes there was the famous Integra TypeR, Honda packed all of their technology into the Prelude...4WS, ATTS.
Prelude= PIG test car. Honda always tried to make it the 4cylinder car that appealed to the american v6 owners.
Hell if anything the Accord was the "big block" car to have. At least they raced them.

The H22 was introduced in 93. So I guess when it was introduced, it was Honda's leading 4 cylinder.
Correct me if I am wrong but Honda's 2.7 V6 put out the same if not less horsepower than the H22?
I believe its 170hp at the crank. Came in the 95-97 Accord sedans and probably some Acura's too.
