ive always heard that turbos are better for hondas, but idk how much truth there is to that.

sc's are limited to about 8-10 of boost but the offer more tq and constant low-mid range power but for honda that rev 7k+ sc's really suffer on the top end where turbos shine... just my $0.02

Go turbo. You dont get the results you want out of an S/C. Take it from me.

i'm running a jrsc on my sol, very reliably and hella fun to drive, but if your looking for low 1/4 mile times i would go w/ turbo

i think its cool if you SC a honda. not as common, but you wont make as much power per lb of boost with a supercharger. i know the JRSC dont produce mass amounts of power, but it will make for a fun drive either way.

if your goals aren't for super high HP, and are looking for more low to mid range. super charge it.

Thanks for all the input anyway I got it on yesterday and it is making some noise so I am going to have to tear it back off and get it rebuilt. So boo for the seller that told me it was running perfect!

if you dont care about peak power, want instant boost, gobs more tq/better midrange go SC. My 88 S/C MR2 wasnt the fastest top end car, but with a pully swap (cusco 16psi) and exhaust it was a rocket off the line. There was no punch in the seat, it was a constant pull all the way to the moddest 7200 rpm redline

those are 2 places right there that will rebuild it for you and for a little extra they will port it some to, but these are the most expensive 2, anyplace that services eaton units should be able to do it though.

i have the kamikazi header(the best header for jrsc b/c of the larger runners and collector)
    cai
colder ngk plugs and wires along w/ a cooler temp thermostat from jr

i also got mine tuned by scotty, so i could up the boost when need be, but at 5lbs i got 150hp in 98degree weather but now i got it back up to 6lbs so i should be more around 155-160hp

i good way to bump up the boost is with a y8 crank pulley on ur d-series, the boost will go from 6 to 8lbs, at least thats what i'm trying right now

yeah thats my plan a company called asp racing makes can custom make me a nose cone pulley that can put me at 10.5 to 11 psi and it comes w/ a better lip than jr's pulley did so less of a worry about thrown belts....theres a guy i know thts going over 10lbs right now but that s/c like to get hot so i wouldnt going ovre the 10.5 lbs unless u can inter coll it some how

Exactly my point. You have to run so much more boost to get as much power as a turbo running half as much. If you run too small of a pulley you will have belt slippage, over heating of the belt, tearing of the belt, melting of the belt, or even over revving the S/C

i made 280whp @ 11 psi on a jrsc k20 @ 102 iat and 312.4 whp... on 100 octane tune @ 105 iat.. Of the iat were in the 60s/70s, it would be easy +6/10 more whp

6-7psi on a small turbo with a z6 will net you low end TQ and 180-190hp pretty easily.

have you ever ran it with a sri? I just heard that it works the SC to hard to draw air through a cai.

i tried it both way....i actually believe the cai works better just b/c w/ the jrsc the under hood temps are outrageous, the cold air reduced that alot, but i hear the short ram makes it seem more responsive w/ the jrsc, but w/ a jrsc u really need it more on the top end anyways, i beat most turbos off the line its the 1/8 mile and pass the jrsc's dont perform well.....

cai would be my recommendation too. the intake charge on a jrsc can get pretty extreme. anything you can do to cool the intake charge is very helpful (ie: cai, water inj, etc).

ok, will do. Like i said, i was just nervous of doing that because of the rumor it worked the charger to hard, but your obviously not suffering from that so i guess its good to go.
