Definitely not a turbo. Sleeves too weak.
resleeve the bottom end and put in a block guard and you could boost. if not then thats a no go.
great canidate for all motor though.
yeah ive heard the sleeves are like toothpicks lol what about the b18b with the b16 head?
That's about the best way to go. But if you are going boost then I would just stick with B18B head and block. It's cheaper that way.Originally Posted by wesleya1018
But then again, some people like the B16 heads since they flow better and you get more hp. But just do some research (google) and see what you find.
well i want to go with which ever setup will run take the most boost...any takes on that?
by the way i appreciate the help guys
No prob man. Rep!Originally Posted by wesleya1018
Good question. I would only guess that the LS/V would take more boost in the long run. But it's all on how you build it.Originally Posted by wesleya1018
B20 sleeves are week, no more than 10psi or 275whp if you want it too last.
B18B or B18C sleeves can handle 400-450whp no problem. stock.

ls/vtec<<<<< no boosted b20 will crack
meaning dont waste ur money boosting b20 go with ls/v
well it looks like im just going to go with the ls/v should leave the stock rods in bc im going to J&E pistons or go ahead and buy rods?
The B20b sleeves are weak due to the design.
If you decide on an Ls short block use forged internals like: eagle forged rods, cp forged pistons(9:5.1 CR), arp rod bolts, arp head studs, acl bearings, etc..
If you want a 2 liter and more insurance than just resleeve it to 84mm(b20b spec). Golden Eagle mfg.![]()
The cheaper route would just be an whole Ls longblock. You could do the Ls/vtec but that involves more money. You can use the b16 head or you can use a b18c head(the b18c will yeild .3 higher comprssion, i think).
Ls oem rods and pistons are garbage when it comes to turbo setups.

cant run stock rods with aftermarket pistons.
Do it right an run Eagle Rods

yeah i just pulled my b18c bc it dropped a valve on 10psi i ran it for about a year and got a 12.9 on stock internals thats why im building another one so if anybody needs and parts off my b18c lmk

ha yeah i let scotty tune it at mainstream and it put out 282 to the wheels
just resleeve the b20 if you already have one and throw in forged rods and pistons.

And another vote for an LS/V setup. I put mine together and absolutely love it. It is very potent setup when built properly, but that goes for any setup.

i realy enjoyed my straight ls/t setup was a pretty damn good setup and scotty at mainstreem hooked it up on dyno
