As for your comment on Porsche, pretty much every carb porsche (Pre-'76) will drive circles around any of the cars you are considering in the handling department. As for the Japanses cars turn better statement, do remeber that the early japanese suspension designs were actually british. Colin Chapman of Lotus, to be precise.
If you are looking at handling, look at older cars. The lighter the better. Maybe a Datsun 510 (hey, it is japanese), or a 240Z. European cars could be a BMW 320i or an Audi. If you actually have near 50k, look at a used 911. You will not do better in the handling department.
