Apex seals don't get better with time(as stated by jonathan) they slowly wear down. After the proper break in has been done, the performance slowly goes downhill... Till they pop.

I know more than you think. I'm very aware of the apex seals. I know that the RX8 guys haven't had a single problem with them. I also know that you can't crank it up while cold to pull it back a couple of feet because you will flood them out and have to dry the plugs off it it don't crank (due to aggressive cold start fuel maps). Just as long as you avoid the 5w20 motor oil the engine will last. If you were to upgrade to the RX8's 2mm seals + rotors and do a little bit of port work, your FC will be in good business. I'm not as ignorant as you think I am to rotaries. I just don't work on them. I worked at the Mazda dealer long enough to know about the benefits of the Renesis engine. I've replaced a couple of oil pans due to the light coming on from hard cornering (it was a recall anyways). I'm not very hip on the 12A's and 13B's, but I know a little something about the renesis.
