    Default The new BMW M3

What are your opinions on it? Me, I feel the car is over priced, under powered and just fugly. I didnt even know it was a M3 until It passed me. The last Gen M3's look so much better and more agressive. 90k bucks for 400 hp? Why not spend 50-60k on a Ferrari 355 and have the right to say you own a beautiful Ferrari. Or 30k for a Gen 1 or 2 Viper with 400-500 hp? I think the car is just completly pointless.

So you're calling overprice because it doesn't 328097520987329hp?!? Come on now, it's more to car then hp. BMW is on point when it comes to technology, and I believe the engine in the M3 is one of the most efficient every created (using direct injection). Most companies are still in development when it comes to direct injection and here BMW is already using.

its a nice car and all, but the prices just keep going up. E46 M3s were like $65K new. I dont think the upgrade in technology is worth the price of a nice daily driver...

Yea.....thats exactly my point. If you look at most cars now a days the price is influenced by the HP rating and how it performs on the track. NINETY THOUSAND dollars for this car....no matter what you say, it will ALWAYS be over priced...and fugly.

Most companies are still trying to design direct injection?....I didnt know we were still in the 70's.

And a car that is sold at 65 grand and 3 years later is worth LESS than HALF of that isnt really a good car..is it?

thats what I thought. I heard some exhaust clips of the car & I wasnt impressed at all. I know the clip didnt do it justice, but I expected A LOT better.

I don't post up often, but this warrants attention.

The new M3 is currently selling for MSRP, which is 54k base for the sedan and 57k for the coupe.

Why not spend the money on Ferrari 355... well #1 is of course maintenance. BMW's is free where as the Ferrari will cost you thousands in a year.

It has been proven that the 400hp BMW is quicker around a track than its competition. HP numbers mean nothing if can't put it down properly.

Oh, and resell value has a lot more to do the economy and financing than a brand.

Unless u want Ferrari maitenanc e..don't get me wrong..the F355 is a beautiful car..but the cost of hi-italian performance upkeep, i would rather have my nice BMW warranty..

Gen 1 Viper>? The Viper is a brute, that's for sure. If you're looking for refinement, that isn't it...Just seems cheaply built as well

im surprised you didn't throw a Z06 in the mix

It is more expensive then the last gen M3, but that's mostly because the American Dollar has depreciated a lot compared to the Euro.

But if I bought a new BMW it would probably be the 135i.

As for the M3 I'll wait 5-7 years and buy a used one.

I am actually kind of disappointed in the new M3. I think it looks great and has awesome tech in it but I really think a V8 was the wrong direction to go in.

Your post confirms you've never driven either car. First, the three cars are from completely different eras and cater to different segments. I'm sure less than 5% of M3 buyers would even consider an F355, or a similar number of 1st gen Viper aficionados considering M3s.
Even an ///M3 with custom interior and paint (BMW Individual) does not cost 90K.. so unless you're reading info off some UK web site, you are completely off the mark. Second, try getting a F355 in mint condition for $50K.. oh that's right, you can't. Besides, as someone else mentioned, you need a lot of dough to maintain a Ferrari. Check out Edmunds long term Ferrari if you wanna continue blabbering. 30K for a Gen1 Viper might sound cool and bargain basement but then then the overall quality is bargain basement as well. If you hate BMWs, admit it. But don't go about posting nonsensical information.

The only thing I agree with is your approval of E46 M3s. But if it's aggresiveness you seek, the E30 M3 is the real wolf amongst the ///M pack. Of course, if it were my money, I'd just buy an RS4 or '09 RS5.

M3 has to be N/A to add to that, Forced induction isn't allowed in allot of series the M3 racecar will compete in. Like GT2.

Man you must really like Vipers don't you? You bring em up in almost every one of your posts....

C'mom man! A Bimmer is a bimmer and I am sure a lot of people would rather have a 414 Hp M rather than a 500 + HP cheaply made Viper.....I know I do.
