Default Quick Q on my turbo setup.

I'm building a turbo setup for my Z6 swaped crx and was wondering if upgrading the injectors needs to be done. Curent injectors are the A6 injectors still using the resistor box. I do have the Z6 injectors if there better.

    I'll be running

Z6 stock internals with Port and Polished head and intake mani. 65mm JG thotal body

Turbo is a TD05 internaly wastegated at 7 psi (I will only be running this, I have no plans on running more boost)

I have a P28 chiped with crome pro.

I've heard that 450cc dsm injectors are what most people run but what is involed in running these. I know you have to bord out the injector seals to fit then in the intake mani.

any help would be great thank

I know about the seals but what about the resistor box? I've read that people with the A6 setup(injector and resisor box) just poped in the DSM injectors and they work is that true?

would the 450cc or 550cc injectors be better on this setup?

450cc will easily supply enough fuel for your goals and are much cheaper unless you can find rx7 injectors.

and the 450 are drop in other than the seals which can be bored out. 450cc it is.

Now for the oil drain mount tot the oil pan other than welding a fitting on has anyone used these. If so where did you get them because the ones in the pic are $65.

    thanks for all the help

sorry for all the dumb Qs but out of all the 6,8,10,12 an fittings witch one is or is clostest to 3/4"? Trying to figgure out the the oil drain to oil pan. The turbo has a 3/4" hose comming off it for a drain so I need to find the fitting thats the same.
    I think I'll use this

    with this

just need to know what size barbed fitting to match up with the 3/4" hose fitting on the turbo.

sorry about all the Q pics and descripitions on wed pages

6an is close to 3/4 your going to want to run smaller to the turbo feed, too big the pressure will be too high, on return you can run whatever, i can weld the bungs in the oil pan if you would rather have that done? i'm local so let me know. oh and use only earls fittings, i have never had much luck with anything else...

yea the 6AN is only for the oil drain. I ordered the oil feed lines that are 3/8"

I'm going to order the weld in fitting like this

and run the 6 AN 45* Earl's fitting to the turbo drain.

blue tops going for 100+ bux. what happend to 25-50.

the black tops are 2g injectors

all u got to do to make it work is to take the seals off your stock injectors. get a dremel carefully bore it till it fits the dsm injectors. thats it everything else is plug and play.

    this might help a lil

    http://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_pr...ors/index.html

edit: might need to change your clips also

    new Q time!!!1

Its about a t3/t4 turbo setup
on the exhaust side of a t3/t4 there is the exhaust hole and then a small hole. On a internally wastgates t3/t4 does the wastgated exhasut come out the smaller hole?

The problem Im seeing is all the down pipes have a solid flange. I'll post pics

There is a housing that can be bolted on there to convert to an internally wastegated setup. solid flange is used when you are using an external gate.

btw stay away from ebay turbos!!

It sounds cliche but most people that try them end up failing, some people do have good luck but a lot don't. its worth a few extra bucks for a piece of mind that your turbo wont grenade itself and trash your engine.

yes it comes out of the small hole. you will have to find a factory exhaust housing with a internal gate and make a adapter plate for it to stay internal

well I think I will be able to use the TD05 that I got for free. I finally got to mock it up on my old motor and figure out what all I need to get the oil to it and out of it. And I think I will be able to fit it with my full size radator.

Is it still a good idea to use the missing links?

Another question on turboing a d16z6. Can the map senser handle 7 psi of boost or do I need a missinglink or a gm map senser?

Thanks for all the help you all have given me.

Yes the stock map can be used for 7psi if you are using a chipped ecu or AFC hack along with 450cc injectors. The missing link is only used alongside a fmu.
