not necessarily. you do it because you like it. you're not bull****ting and telling people "because it saves weight" amirite? also, your have sponsors and it's a show car. like i said before, civic dd w/ a cf hood...

yeah but some people consider show cars rice..to them , its all about performance.

Carbon fiber looks good i like it dont get me wrong, but when tooooo much is on a car i start to think rice. A carbon fiber hood and maybe some pillars are just enough cf for me.
