Default Painting/Painted CF48 *REPLICAS* Rota haters welcome...

These wheels have been some of the worst to sand, tape-off, and paint. Im finished with one, and have all the rest of them sanded and taped-off. I used a duplicolor automotive paint(Marbelhead Metallic) and duplicolor wheel coating clear. Ill post more pics with all the wheels on when im done. Let me know what you guys think of my work......Sorry for the poor quality on some of the photos...most of them...

    Sanded:

    Taped-up:

whats the clear for? is it to make it more luminescent(sp)?
or does it serve as protectant?
cuz i just painted some wheels and i was not sure if i had to clear or not.

Well the paint Im using is not a wheel paint. It was actually a touch up paint in a spray can. Can be used for trim etc. So, I put the "Wheel Coating" clear coat on top to protect the paint. You really wouldnt have to, but I did because of brake dust and what not.

Actually this wheel is designed like a heat sink....That was the purpose of the original CF-48s.

props for taking the time to do it right... they look great!

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

+ definitely! did you ever think about clearing them? When I have painted wheels, I have used Anti-Scratch clear coat... it is really good. Napa sells it in there Crossfire and Tec-base lines. Good stuff! I did a slight curb at low speed and it save the color.
