I suggest you at least run a thicker head gasket... the ITR has been boosted a lot --- some w/ success, some end in nightmare.
To save some coin, you won't need a kit as nice/extensive/complete (translation: PRICEY) as FR. I suggest Peak Boost + MSPi.

you can boost an ITR just be carefull not to go over 9psi to be safe.
As Baby J said , they can be kinda picky. ITR has 2 things working against it:
1) Higher than normal compression
2) Weak Ringlands compared to GSR an LS
SO keep the boost down, and under 250whp.
Full race kits are nice, but for what you can do on a stock motor, a little overkill IMO.
Id go with Treadstone Performance Kit or build a custom kit.

Oh yeah - and if ur gonna pull the head for the thicker gasket, then replace the head studs while you have the top end torn down.
Also - NEUKIN is still doin' their thing as well.

dont do it! why do people insist on boosting type Rs! sell your itr. buy a nice gsr and have the money left over for a very nice turbo set up!
Hella stock member!
i agree with silversol
it's a waste of money to boost a car, stay under 250whp, and still be unsure of it's reliability
I'd suggest getting a beater integra LS/gsr and boosting that instead.
or just getting rid of the ITR for something that makes better power
NITROUS + HIGH COMPRESSION = YUMMY.
BOOST + HIGH CR.... hmmm... .borrowed time. As we stated, it can be done and HAS been done. But w/ inconsistent success.
If I had a high-strung ITR, I'd fully bolt it and add some gas... that's a kick in the pants over stock I promise you, and easier on the pocket initially. You can spray until you build a lower compression block on the side for boost.

my buddy has a stock itr with boost for over a year now and had no problems with it. i was asking about that kit because i am going to build it down the road. i am only going to push 5-6lbs on the motor because it has almost 80k on intill i build. but the plans are to push 500whp. all set and down.
several of us here have boosted itr's.
as many will tell you, it's all in the tune.
but i don't rape on my car every chance i get - i just get on it when i need to.
i run 10psi although it goes up to 12psi on occasion.
I think Alfonso ran like 15psi+ on his stock block, but he had a thicker headgasket.

This is a subject i have been contemplating on for over 2 years. I know kens r has been boosted for at least 3 years now and im sure it still runs strong. Robert's is pretty nasty too. He still owes me a run. I on the other hand went baby js route and has been fun for two years now and still no problem, yet. Of course i never dog my **** and i have only been threw maybe 4 full bottles but, it is very fun to say the least. Im sure once everything gets the way i want it to it will go full build plus boost but i have sometime to have the best setup for when i do go boost. Some advice would be to think it through and dont rush it and it is all in the tune like ken said.
this is my friends type r motor on boost with my other friends hatch
