    Default VW Bug

My dad is buying one and I will be using it as a dd until I can find a nice hatch. Problem is that I know nothing about these cars other than the fact that they look nice. Anyone have any tips or things I need to know about this car.

P.S. I do plan on lowering it and putting some rim on so it doesnt look too plain.

My first car was a bug and I almost bought another. Some of the best little cars on the road. I.M.O i'd take one over a hatch anyday if you have plans to hotrod something. Wheel stands with 200hp easy.

IMO, you should take off the fenders, chop it, and do a suicide front end...

But i realize it's just a DD. In that case -- here's some inspiration:

Really? doesn't sound motivating lol. I'm still lowering it though couldn't stand driving stock ride height.

I like being able to go over speed bumps. But to each his own

Either way, I'm a big fan of the old Bugs.

    +1 resource for inspiration...

plus, IMH0, you need to at least install disk brakes up front for safety... and if you're real bawlsy, then install a Rotory outback, plum some water lines & a radiator and have over 100HP on TAP NA....

or you could go w/ a Subie motor...

anyhow, tons of options...engine building for those things can get very expensive...make sure you have all of the TIN for the motor for cooling...
