Default BASE Lancer 16g swap :)

I'm currently in the process of installing my custom turbo set-up for my 2003 Lancer OZ.

-16g out of an evo 8
-evo 8 fmic, piping, bov, ect..
-evo megan racing mani with a 4G94 Flange Welded to it
    -440cc wrx injectors
    -255 walbro fuel pump

anyway, im hoping to run 10psi (4g94's pretty much blow after 13) i should have it all finished up in the next week or so and im lookin for a place to get my ecu flashed. i live in kennesaw, but anything in the Atlanta area will pretty much work. any advice on a good shop will be much appriciated

ill be sure to post up some pics and numbers when i get everything working

and no. thats just what most kits the sell run at useing t25's and t28's, 16g is a bigger turbo as well. When Raod/Race Motorsports first started boosting lancers back in 2001 or so, they turned it all the way up to 13 before they blew a rod. pluss there are plenty a of guys running 9-10psi with stock internals that i know of.

    Default hmm

should've just got a EVO! Stock evo's peak stock boost is 19psi at 3500rpm..Tapers to 16psi after Mid end. But there are ways to change that if you get it tuned/flashed. EVO FTW

ok we US Lancer guys get that enough on the lancer forums... no its not awd, no its not a stock turbo car, yes an evo is a much better platform to start from... but its not an evo.... not to mention not everyone has 20k for a car.

remove those front weights off the frame support. You'll lose 15-20 lbs.

I give u a lot of props doing that. Its amazing you guys can do this on the ground. I have a shop and i dont think i could ever work on the ground.

yeah i had to take them off along with the crash bar to get the IC to fit.

n thx. im pretty sure im the first one in GA to do it. and there are only a a few turboed lancers in the south but they are all premade kits that i know of. and trust me i would die to have a lift , but it really isnt that bad if you know your car well.

What happens if you boost spike? Wont you blow the engine up? Why not tune it down to 8psi? It should be pretty quick i would assume for an OZ lancer at that point, wouldn't it?

true, but it would have to spike up 4 psi to hurt anything. but you do have a good point. either way once i get about 2g's more im gunna beef up the motor and run 18-20 .

there is a guy on the lancer forums who did that and is running 19 with 308 to the wheels

right now i just want to do 10 so i can hit the 200whp mark

ok so my boost gauge is reading -12 to -10 at idle, but ive herd it should me more like -18 to -22..

ive got my boost gauge, bov, and fmu all tied into the same vacuum line and was told that shouldn't effect anything. and ive checked for leaks and have hose clamps on every hose.

    not sure whats up..

^^heres the gauge i have. i feel dumb now cuz i looked at the site and it only goes down to -14. im usually reading -12 to -10 at idle. so since it only goes down that far is that a problem?

Have u thought about getting slightly bigger injectors and an AFC to tune with, put some 550's on there and get a decent tune and you can make more than 220 safely.

well i just got back from batlground. Dan did an awsome job. im currently running 7 psi peak with 185whp and 205torque

we tried for 200whp but i have a boost leek somewhere, so as soon as it gets to about 4500rmp the boost drops from 11 back down to 7. so once i get that fixed im takin it back in.
