    Everyone: thanks for the input! I'm showing this to him and telling him i'm NOT crazy, and it CAN look good

    JITB: I was thinking about that, but it'd be damn hard to match the color of my car to the color of the smoke...

    not match the paint, just paint them al red, so there just all red, using transparent red model paint.

    i was bored so i took a few minutes to photoshop some stuff:

    painted all red:



    all orange:



    tinted the red part orange:



    tinred the red part orange and smoked the clear part:
