Not bad, I wonder why they went from SC to T.
Bozzio for president.
imo it still looks like crap.
they didnt change much to it, so if the previous models look like crap, this one is no exception.

Well, we just found our next tuner vehicle. It's always been one of my dreams that GM would jump back into adding a performance model for every vehicle that they make. Now the only one that they lack is the Saturn Astra. The Super versions of the Buick are V8 powered and they get down. The Pontiac division has a couple of RWD vehicles coming with some big numbers. I can honestly say that I am actually proud of GM once again. Making cars that people would actually want instead of making cars that people might need. Back in 1995 over 90% of GM vehicles produced came mostly in atx. Now look at them. Every division except Buick has a vehicle with a manual transmission. Let's see if we can introduce this concept to Ford.
K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
Troof. BTW you said you are proud of Gm again....pshhhh I am proud of GM everyday when I clock in at work, they pay my bills. Thank you General Motors, and Phil Cook Chevrolet. LOLOLOriginally Posted by blackshine007
BTW they are fmic's. This has the same motor that is in the Saturan Sky Redline, and Pontiac Soli' Gxp. They are pretty impressive, spools fairly quick. So yah the new one has a front mount.

This chassis is more than capable of doing great things. I think that when you set it up properly, there's not a Honda FWD honda here that can fool with it. And that's saying alot. I rented an atx Cobalt base model and I was impressed with it. It rode really nice, almost like it was meant to be a bigger car. No wind noise. All the bumps were pretty well isolated. It gave me the impression that I was driving in a bigger car. I've heard nothing but good things about the capabilites of the Cobalt and if I ever decided to buy a new car, this would be it. Seriously.

The bad:
F35 transmission. Rated for less tq then the balt comes stock with.
Small wheels: Well, small is relative, but you cant fit much wider of a wheel/tire under there.
Tiny turbo: Hp peak at 5000rpm anyone?
The computer: Complicated bosch system, brand new for direct injection. Still not fully cracked in the aftermarket.
Will always play #2 to its RWD cousins with superior chassis/suspension (Sky/solstice)
The good:
The 2.0 LNF is miles ahead of anything GM has ever put out. Mine puts out just over 300whp on a dynojet with a (maxed) stock turbo on pump gas.
Direct injection = 12.5:1 AFR at wot. More power, less fuel used = more mileage
The suspension: This is possibly the best factory FWD, to date, EVER.
GM strengthened the axles bigtime (was a weak point in the supercharged ones)
A lot of parts for the sky/sol will swap over, and motor parts are 100% swappable, which means a bigger aftermarket, which means cheaper parts, and more vendors.
Sweet oversized (relatively) brembo brakes from the factory

anyone notice the typo? Never heard of a turbochared car...
i hope they changed the pistons and the cat. that was the biggest weak point of the sc/ss. i had one. the cat clogged with only 10k miles and then by 13k miles the #1 and #4 pistons broke. the car was stock. piece of **** if you ask me. i wouldnt take one over a srt 4 just because of what i have been through with the last ones and i have a srt 4 now. lol. good luck to GM with this new one.
The body seems the same so I don't see anything to rave about. The numbers are pretty impressive.
I'm really liking those red seats though.
blown_ss there isnt a single part on the lnf that is on the lsj. even the block is different (although still an ecotec block, its just a lot beefier)

im going to try and see if later i can get those brembos for mine
There is a general biased on this site against the Cobalt. This new one is a winner and competes well with other fwd cars in it's class.
8.22 at the ring. Nuff Said.
Well put, i have had several import's (mazdaspeed protege, SER Spec V) so needless to say i was a little skeptical. I can say that i was very suprised and i do not regret buying my cobalt.Originally Posted by EJ25RUN
