It's a fuel pump shut off, basically. It's in case the bus is in an accident, and they're pretty common. Most Ford-Lincoln-Mercury vehicles have them as well. They automatically trip in case of an accident over a certain amount of force, and the button can either be used to activate or reset the system. BTW, where in Ireland did you go?
