Exclamation Accidentally washed a car title!

Just bought a car from a fellow IA'er on here and I accidently washed the title. It's not too bad to the point where it's in pieces, just a little crumpled up. Can I still go to the tag office and transfer the tag over to my name?

but yes, probably assuming the signature part is legible and you have a bill of sale.

The signature part is legible, but I didn't have a bill of sale prior to the transaction. Hopefully I won't be screwed.

No, the car is totaled and will need to be seized. Just pm me the address and I will take care of it tonight.

P.S. just leave the keys in the gas cap

yes. they wont care about a bill of sale unless the title is completley destroyed. just walk in and say "i need to transfer ownership of this car to me"

Yeah, just got the car and totally forgot to take the title out my jeans before washing them. Planning to head to the tag office tomorrow to get everything squared away. Thanks for the help though IA.

the car has to go to the dump now. just take out the seats that way you sit on the side of the road and look like you have a car.

thats sucks tho. its not that big of a deal. they will print a new one.
